                           Chapter 4

The Gallaher Academy hadn't changed at all since Cam and I sneaked in last. To Cammie this was home, to me it was a safe place for Cammie. That was all I wanted was Cammie to be safe. But for now I had to put on my famous smirk and pretend not to have any fear. Cam did the same.

"Josh?" I heard Cam say in a sweet way.

"Josh." I heard myself say in more of a grossed out tone.

"What are you doing here? Where is Dede?" She walked over to him. I rolled my eyes.

"We broke up. And this might surprise you but Black Thorne recruited me."

"What?" I heard myself say out loud even though I just wanted to think it. Cammie shot me a 'be nice' look. I still scowled at the boy who once held my girls heart and broke it.

"Yeah, I thought that at first too, but it's not that bad. Cammie your mom asked me here to oversee an operation that the sixth graders were doing. She was a little short handed." Josh finally finished after what felt like an eternity.

I was frozen in my steps. "Why didn't she just ask us? We are more qualified anyway." Once again I said this out loud, though it was only meant to stay in my head. Cammies glare shot through me like dagger. I thought she might actually punch me.

"She said she needed you both for something else. Trust me I had the same question. But I have been helping a lot lately." Josh spoke, his words were like a bunch of gaggled rocks. I now got a hold of myself and moved right next to Cammie as Josh tried to give her a hug.

"Well we better find her mother. It was so nice seeing you." I said pulling Cammie away from the hug and in to my arms as we walked away.

             "Really?" Cam asked me.

"What? I didn't like the way he was looking at you."

"I am allowed to have friends. It's not like we're married and he's stealing me from you. I would never let that happen." We were in a secret passage way now and she put her soft hand on my face and leaned in for a sweet little kiss on my cheek but I quickly turned and engaged her lips to mine.

"Speaking of that, I have a question I want to ask you." I heard myself say. Cams gaze deepened,l ike she was looking in to my soul. "Well I wanted to ask if..." I was cut off by a little squeal from Liz. I rolled my eyes ahain.

"Ohmigosh! Cammie!" Liz sqealed. she ran to hug her not realizing Cam had been shot only a week before.

"Carful, carful." I said slowing Liz down. "Cammie's been shot only a few days ago."

"I'm okay." Cam said once she saw the worry on her friends face. She reached out to hug Liz. I turned to my friend Jonas who stood there watching the love of his life giving the love of my life a hug.

"Long time no see." I said, giving  Jonas a man hug.

"Too long no see." He corrected me. I laughed a little. I then turned and saw Grant and Bex walking hand in hand towards us.

"Ahhhh!" Bex screamed seeing her best friend for the first time in a long time. It was a huge group hug once Bex slammed in to the mix. Cammie moaned under her breath. Only I could notice it. I was at her side in a second.

"Carful," I started. "Cam's been shot.... again."

"I'm fine Zach." She said but Bex and Liz were a lot more gentle. I walked back over to the guys I had lived with for years.

"So have any of you popped the question yet?" Grant asked us when the girls left to go see Cammies mom.

"Almost, until Liz saw Cammie." Jonas said.

            "Same here." I put in.

"I don't know how to." Grant admitted. "I'm afraid she will bite my head off."

We all laughed. "Well if she does you will know the answer." Jonas joked. Grant just glared. We all made a pact at the being of the year that we would ask our girls to marry us. life moved so fast and changed in an instance.

"The year is coming to an end soon, it's November already." Jonas said.

"I guess it's easy yo loose track of time when the world's deadliest terrorist organizations main focus is you." I said.

"Good point." Grant said. "Shhhh! I heard the girls. " We all acted natural. well as natural as trained spys who were about to ask the biggest question of their lives. We all gave each other the 'let's do it now' look. We all got up and pulled our girls away in to re opposite direction.

I took Cammie by the hand. I had asked her mother a while back and and I had her blessing. "Cameron?" I said.

"Oh no is something wrong? You never call me by my full name."

"No, no, no. Nothing is wrong." I pulled her in to the passageway that only her and I knew about. I turned her face to mine and looked in her big beautiful eyes. We weren't rushed or anything like that. We had all the time in the world. I put on a blazer for this, and it is soooo uncomforetable.

I reached in to my pocket and just before I pulled the little blue box out that would change both of our lives forever, we heard Liz scream. Cammie was out of my embrace in a second and she was running to Liz. I grabbed her arm. "Zach, let go." She said sternly.

               "No." I heard myself say.

"Zach what are you doing? Liz is in trouble."

"She is fine. Jonas is with her. She probably just saw a spider or something." I knew why Liz was screaming but I didn't want to tell Cam.

At that moment I kissed her hard on lips. I just wanted her to focus on me, on us. When I pulled away I pulled down. I was on one knee now. No turning back. I thought. "Cameron Ann Morgan," I pulled the box out of my blazer pocket. I saw her eyes widen with glee. "Will you do me the honor," I didn't hesitated at this moment I just wanted to look in to her eyes. "of spending the rest of your life with me?" I opened the box. It was a silver ring with a simple Dimond in the middle. Something I knew she would like. Her eyes watered. we were almost 23 and by the time we got married we would be 24 or 25. That's not too yoing, right? I was holing her left hand and either was really sad or really happy, she couldnt seem to get words out. The biggest smile I had ever seen on her face emerged.

"Yes." She muttered shocked, happy, and joyful all at the same time. "Yes, of course I will marry you!" She said once I slipped the ring onto her finger I kissed her hard. And she didn't pull away and neither did I. I was the happiest I had been in a long time. Once we stopped I kissed her on the forehead and embraced her in my arms. "Now I know why Liz screamed." She said. "You knew didn't you, you all planned this, right under our noses."

She smiled made it impossible for me not to smile. I pointed to myself and said, "spy." She giggled. Cammie was my girl forever. That was the best thought I had in a long time.
