"So I'm not positive that you know my name..." the hazel eyed boy tells me, " it's uh... it's Leo." He scratches the back of his neck.
" Ohhh you're the baseball player? Sorry I didn't recognize you." I let my voice go kind of flat. The blush fades from my cheeks as the silence rolls back in. This time I'm suddenly afraid that the silence will get too aggressive and instead of going away it will take me away with it. The silence will drown me in the endless loneliness that it carries with it.
"So would you want to skip school with me? I mean we're half done with the day... what's the point in finishing it?" Leo must've seen me hesitate because he continues to talk this time his hand moved onto my leg. "Come on Vivi, it's not like anyone is going to notice we're gone."
My whole body shivered. Nobody usually touches me, more like nobody ever touches me. So when he did, especially him, my body was instantly covered in goosebumps. "Alright let's go, if you want to come to my house my parents won't be home for hours," I say. I wanted him to touch me again. I wanted to feel less alone.
Leo raises his eyebrows in surprise but then he smirks and his hazel eyes get darker. "Alright as long as you're okay with that. You know with me knowing where you live," Leo looks almost hungry, which doesn't make sense because we literally just ate lunch, well he did at least. Leo gets up and so do I. I move my hair from my face and tell my friends that we're going to skip. Charlotte looks really concerned but Alice nods and gives me a smile. As we're walking out of the cafeteria I see Leo give a smirk to one of his friends. His friend laughs and then gets the rest of what I'm guessing is the baseball team'a attention and then points at me. I look to Leo and I suddenly wish I hadn't agreed to any of this. Once we get to the school's parking lot I see his car and definitely regret my decision. His car is all black and the windows are super tinted it looks like the interior is black too. I apologize to Leo and start to walk away. But he grabs me by the arms and pulls me back to where his car is parked. I try to scream but he puts his hand on my mouth as he opens the door. I struggle to get out of his grip but he shoves me in the back seat. I try to open the door but the child lock is on. I try to squeeze through the space between the passenger seat and the drivers seat but he's already opening the door.
"What the hell Leo, let me out!" I yell. He just ignores me and shuts his car door behind him. He puts his key in the ignition and sets the car in reverse. He pulls out of the parking spot and drives out of the parking lot. He seems to truly be unfazed as I scream and yell at him. He doesn't do anything as I bang on the windows. But I know that it's no use. I know that I'm going to get hurt. And I know that nobody will care if I do get hurt or worse. As Leo drives down a road I don't recognize, I suddenly wish I wouldn't have left my friends and everyone else in bliss.
