Daryl walked through the forest, looking for clues that would lead to what happened to Sophia. "Dammit. Nothin'." He reached a road and looked both ways, tilting his head to the side when he saw a car in the distance. A couple walkers trying to get inside. "Is someone in there?" He wondered out loud. He made his way over and shot the one closer to him with an arrow. The other walker paid him no attention and tried to get at something inside the car through the broken window in the back. Daryl pulled the arrow out of the walker's head and stabbed the other one in the head. He pushed the walker out of the window.

"Holy shit.." He mumbled when he looked inside. A kid lied in the backseat, unconscious and covered in bruises. His shirt was torn to shreds. "Poor kid.." He looked around to see if there was anything around that would give him a clue towards who did this. Nothing but a puddle of blood near the car with a trail leading into the woods he had just came from.

Daryl looked back inside the car and opened the door. He removed the blanket and felt a rush of adrenaline at the horrific sight. The kid was covered in blood, but didn't seem to have any wounds. He wore a grey and blue baseball T that was still torn to shreds, black jeans, and there were two black backpacks on the ground next to him. Daryl unlocked the front door and closed the backdoor to the car. He got in the drivers seat and tried to find the keys. He smirked when he found them, but frowned when the car didn't start.

"Battery must be dead."

(Switching to Daryl POV because third person is too hard)

I carried the boy through the woods with both backpacks and my crossbow over my shoulder. I reached the farm and went straight for the house. Rick came up to me from where he sat on the stairs, looking troubled. When he saw the kid in my arms, he ran over to me.

"What the hell is this, Da-" He stared at the kid with wide eyes when he reached me.

"I found him unconscious in a car while I was looking for Sophia. He's covered in blood, but all I can find are bruises. So I don't think it's his blood." Rick kept staring at the kid, like he was in shock. "Rick!"

He looked up at me with tears in his eyes. I was taken aback. "I know this kid. His name is Keith." He took Keith from my arms and went into the house yelling for Hershel. I joined him after a second and watched Rick take Keith to the bathroom.

"We need to get him cleaned up so we'll be able to see the full extent of his injuries." Rick nodded. "Give the kid to Daryl." Rick opened his mouth to argue, but Hershel interrupted. "You're still weak from giving so much blood. You need rest. I'll tell you his condition later, alright? Go sit with your son and wife."

Rick reluctantly nodded and handed me the kid, who was still unconscious. I nodded to him. "I'll take care of him, Rick." Rick went down the stairs and into the bedroom where Carl was staying. I followed Hershel into the bathroom and he started to fill the tub. I sat on the toilet holding Keith close to me, surprised at how tiny he was. He couldn't be older than fourteen.

"Alright, let's get him cleaned up. Can you get his clothes off?" I nodded and took the shredded shirt off of Keith. Hershel drew in a sharp breath and I looked at the kid's chest. I stared in complete shock at all of the painful looking hickeys he was covered in. I lowered my gaze and got his pants and boxers off. I was setting him in the water when something caught my eye.

I grabbed his left hand and looked curiously at the ring. A thin gold band with a small diamond in the middle. It was a pretty nice ring. Other than the fact that it was covered in blood. I took it off of his finger to clean it and washed it in the sink as Hershel cleaned the kid.

"Oh God.." He mumbled. I dried off the ring and put it in my pocket, turning to where Hershel was bent over the tub.

"What?" He looked up at me with eyes filled with sadness. His next words made my blood run cold.
