'I love when you're around, but I hate when you leave.'
~
Rey couldn't sleep. She got up from her bed and covered herself up with a flowing silk robe and walked down the dark hallways of the Finalizer. Rey walked over to a big window. If you were to look out, you'd see endless stars. Rey sat on the seat that accompanied the window. She watched as the Finalizer passed planets, stars and meteors. The whole ship was silent.
Rey sighed. She took in the view. The stars held her attention with their continual blinking. With the ship being so quiet, you could've heard Rey's thoughts.
"You couldn't sleep?"
Rey turned around. Kylo stood behind her. She shook her head. Kylo sat next to her, and the two sat in silence.
"Do you... miss them?" Ren asked.
"From time to time." Rey replied.
"....why did you come to the Order?"
"I felt like everything was my fault. People were dying left and right, and everyone, mostly, blamed me for it." Rey said, a tear falling down.
Then another. Until it was just a soft waterfall. Kylo brought her to him, and he held her. Kylo rested his chin on Rey's head while she poured out her tears and pain.
Did they really not see her worth?
"You know if you stay with me, we could prove them wrong." Kylo suggested. Rey stopped crying, but kept sniffling. She couldn't believe she was actually considering it. She looked up, and Kylo kissed her. And she kissed back, no hesitation.

The next day,Kylo and Phasma had to leave to inspect Starkiller Base. They'd given Troopers the newer armor, and construction continued on. Which meant Rey was left alone with Hux. He had to stay and man the Finalizer and take care of everything on the ship. Rey absolutely dreaded staying alone with Hux; as did Kylo.
Rey kept her distance, and stayed in her room most of the time. Hux didn't bother her, unless to inform her of how low-class she is.
"Just coming by to remind you, desert rat. You have no worthy place in the Order. No matter what, you'll always remain Rebel scum to everyone." Hux said.
"Mm." Rey said, not looking up from her book.
"You will address me as such. I am your superior, and I will be treated with respect." Hux snapped.
"And I do not care, thank you very much." Rey said, rolling her eyes.
Hux's blood boiled.
"Listen, you whore," the word rolled off his tongue, "if you really think you're a special little revelation, you're wrong. All of the rebel scum will fall to their knees and beg pathetically for mercy. And don't try to work your way out of their execution by loving up to Ren. You'll meet your ends, sooner or later." He chuckled.
Rey gripped her book until her knuckles turned white. Using one hand, she dragged Hux by his neck to her.
"Take that load of tauntaun fairy tale crap and shove it up your arse." Rey said, putting his face close to hers. With a flick of her wrist, he was sent flying. Hux got up, wiping the blood trickling down his face, and stormed off.
Rey threw her book across the room and held her face. She was going insane without Kylo.
~
The Starkiller Base construction was going absolutely slow. Kylo'd attended three meetings, signed two contract papers, and somehow kept himself from absolutely destroying Starkiller. He could feel Rey across the Force and how uncomfortable she was. She hadn't been alone for quiet some time, as well. He felt bad for not being able to bring her.
"Lord Ren, we're getting ready to leave in two days. Is that acceptable?" Phasma asked.
Kylo nodded, and Phasma left him alone with his thoughts.
"Eager to get back to the girl, child?"
"No. I want to go home. I'm getting tired of hearing the same things everyday." Kylo lied.
"Child, just be patient. She's conflicted. Just push her a little over the edge with the Dark." Snoke instructed.
"Yes, Master."
Snoke didn't speak to Kylo after that. As you imagine, Finn somehow managed to crash into Starkiller Base the day of their departure.
"You rotten bastard, where's Rey?!"
Kylo whipped around to see Finn being carried to him by four Troopers; two holding his arms, and two holding his legs. Finn was thrashing everywhere. Kylo raised an eyebrow. The Stormtroopers dropped Finn on his face. He got up, and was put in restraints.
"She's safe. And away from you ungrateful worms." Kylo said, putting his face close to Finn's. His eyes burned with anger.
How dare he.
"Bring him on the ship." Kylo ordered.
"You should be grateful he didn't kill you, traitor. You should also be grateful I'm not allowed to, either." Phasma said.
Finn was thrown into a cell, where Kylo was to question him when they got back to the Finalizer. Ren couldn't wait to get back.

Poe sat in the Squadron Leader lounge, drinking his morning cup of warm Bantha milk.
"FINN'S GONE!" Leia came in, screaming.
Poe spit out his Bantha milk, and looked at Leia.
"Well, I thought we made him stay!" Poe replied.
"WELL, WE SHOULD HAVE KEPT ON EYE ON HIM! Oh my kriff, what do we do now?" Leia said, holding her head.
"I dunno, but we need to get him back. And Rey. He'll stop at nothing until-"
"Yes, Poe. We went over that many times," Leia sighed. "We're in for it now. No doubt that crazy kid will do something to get himself killed."
Poe continued to drink his milk. He smacked his lips.
"I have a-"
"Don't smack your lips. It's rude." Leia berated him.
"As I was saying, I have a plan. It's not the best, but it's a plan." Poe said, cocking his head in annoyance.
....
"Are you going to tell us? We can't read your mind, Poe." General Ackbar said.
The Resistance members all listened and gathered around the pilot.
~
The crew landed on the Finalizer. Rey was waiting for Kylo in the launch bay. He stepped off the smaller plane, turning to see Rey running to him. She wrapped her petite arms around his broad frame. He returned her hug. Kylo kissed the top of her head, being careful nobody saw it. Ren preferred not to show any outer emotion amongst his inferiors.
"REY! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?" Finn yelled.
Rey looked around and saw Finn being shoved by three Stormtroopers away. He kept resisting them, but there wasn't much he could do in restraints.
"I.." Rey bit her bottom lip as she saw them lead her friend away.
"Where did you find him?" Rey asked Kylo.
"He crashed onto Starkiller Base. The outer guards saw an X-WING try to enter the planet's ring. He was shot down, but he was okay. We had no choice but to take him back here." Kylo replied.
"Oh." Rey said.
Something shook the ship.
"Lord Ren, something or someone attacking us."
Rey knew exactly who it was. Troopers ran from one end of the ship to the other, and to the attack consoles. This was it. Rey had to make a choice. Kylo looked at Rey and took her hand. He and Rey ran to a room, secluded from any part of the battle.
"Rey. I need you to stay here until I come and get you. Please don't leave. Promise me." Kylo pleaded.
She looked at Kylo. He really didn't want her to leave him. She nodded in response. Rey kissed Kylo to ensure her end of the promise, as did Kylo. He broke apart the kiss, and left her alone. Rey started to cry. She was so confused. She came here to keep everyone safe. They knew that. So why did they come and try to save her? She believed they all thought it was her fault for the destruction.
Wasn't it?
~
A few of the Squadron pilots and leaders got on board of the Finalizer, and met their untimely demise. Resistance fighters and Stormtroopers were destroying each other left, right, and center. Poe and two others made it past them, and found the cells. All they found was Finn and a few more Rebels.
"Finn, buddy, you okay?" Poe said, fumbling around for his blaster pistol. "Look away..!" He shot the codepads off the walls of the cells.
"Poe..! Rey... Rey's-" Finn tried.
"We know she's not here.." Poe assumed.
"NO! Poe listen!" Finn said, getting mad.
"No time, let's go, go!" Poe said, getting everyone out.
Transport pods were waiting for them.
"POE! Listen!"
"Hold on, buddy." Poe said, focused on everyone else. "Is everyone off?!"
They nodded.
"Okay,we gotta get outta here, so hold on." Poe said.
They transport pod was a couple leagues away from the Finalizer.
"Okay, Finn. What were you saying?"
"REY AND KYLO ARE A THING!" Finn yelled.
Poe pursed his lips.
"Hahah, that's funny. Come on, what were-"
"No, I saw her run up to him and hug him in the launch bay." Finn said, holding his head in his hands.
"Come on, she wouldn't... right?" Poe asked, clearly hoping for it to be a joke.
"I-I... I know what I saw, Poe. There's nothing you can say to change my mind." Finn said, hurt.
"Look buddy, we know you had a thing for her, but we need to get back to Profundity, and we'll figure out what to do later." Poe said, biting his tongue to keep himself from crying at the fact one of his close friends left them.
The whole transport pod ride was silent. When they got into Profundi, they told Leia everything. She wasn't surprised.
"I knew from the start, the Force would eventually bring them together. I just hoped it would've been the other way around." Leia explained.
"Are we even still sure if Rey isn't going to attack us?" General Ackbar asked.
"We don't. We have hope she won't. They'll break this galaxy into pieces." Leia said.
Finn stood in the back during this discussion. He was completely heartbroken. He couldn't believe Rey actually went for Kylo Ren. The anger-prone Porg. Finn left the meeting to his bed chambers.
~
X-WINGS and other combat ships attacked the Finalizer. TIE fighters spewed our everywhere in hopes of stalling to blast into hyperspace, away from the attackers. They had too much risk to attack back. Kylo Ren helped with the destruction of many X-WINGS, in hopes of Rey still on the ship. The little thought in the back of his mind told him she left; that sent him into a blind fury of rage.
Things were dying left and right, no matter if it was a First Order fighter or Rebel. She couldn't leave him. Rey was his only key point to sanity. Angry tears spilled down his face as Hux called back the fighters. Kylo was the last to get on the ship. He took his helmet off and wiped his fears away. Kylo could feel another pain too. It knocked the wind out of him. Several X-WINGS attacked his Silencer.
"Oh shit, oh shit, oh shit."
Kylo had to make it back. He promised Rey he would.
Most of the time, the Rebels missed, as Kylo was skilled in evasive maneuvers. He was so close to getting into the bay, when two of the X-WINGS blew the right side of his Silencer up, and the explosion forced Kylo into the bay, full force. Fifteen Stormtroopers looked through the wreckage, to find him burned, and scratched. Ten medical droids assisted with lifting him out of the Silencer and brought him to the Infirmary.

Rey sat in the corner of a room, and hugged her knees.
"What's going on?" She asked herself, looking out the window. She could hear Stormtroopers rush down the halls, or General Hux spilling orders. Rey was so eager to get out there and help fight. But fight who?
Rey fell into a pit of tears, fighting with herself. What was she going to do? Would she fight her friends or her lover? It pained her just to even think about it. Phasma opened the door to her room.
"Scavenger. Hux requires your presence. And don't worry. You'll be accompanied by other officers." She said, before leaving with seven other Troopers.
Rey got up from the corner, and dried her eyes. She had to know what was going on. Rey rushed down the halls of the Finalizer, looking for Hux until she found him and others in a room.
"We need a new location. Coruscant is out of range, and Starkiller is still under heavy construction. We don't have enough resources to fight the Rebels." Hux said, pointing at a large screen in the front of the room. He scrolled through his data pad, unable to find anymore locations the Order has.
"Does the Resistance know where Starkiller is?" Rey asked.
"We're not sure. If they knew where it was they probably would've attacked there already." Mitaka said.
"Hmm. We could just stay within the region of Starkiller. It'll make it easier for building inspection and the Rebels don't know where it is, anyways." Rey said, looking at Hux.
He thought about for a moment.
"If it's the only option we have," he looked around, and got everyone's approval. "Set a course for Starkiller." The Officers and Rey scrambled out of the room to inform the pilots.
"We need time to do that. We've heavily coded the location, we need to decode it." They said.
Troopers (and Ren) got into TIE fighters and got ready to defend the Finalizer. Rey stood in the main control room, watching the pilots struggle with the decoding.
"Oh my Bantha, you guys are slow." She huffed, leaning against a wall and crossing her arms.
"You are welcome to help, you know." A man snapped.
Rey rolled her eyes and went over the main control panel.
"General, we're all set for Starkiller." Rey said, turning to Hux. He couldn't help but be impressed.
"Call back the fighters and Ren." Hux said.
Two pilots nodded and proceeded to tell the remaining fighters to come back.
*explosion noises*
Rey stopped in her tracks. Something was wrong.
"Sir, we're ready to launch now."
"Then why are you imbeciles waiting? Go!" Hux screamed, his slick hair becoming a mess.
The pilots proceeded to jump to light speed. Within a few minutes, they were in the orbit of Starkiller.

Three BB-9Es tended to Kylo's injuries while he slept. He had a severe cut on his left bicep and a small burn mark on his neck. Rey was walking around, asking people if Kylo made it back safely. They didn't know. Rey was getting desperate and started asking Troopers, which was forbidden. Word went around she was asking Stormtroopers and Phasma took care of it.
"Girl, you're forbidden to talk with Stormtroopers, as is everyone else. Please don't force me to confine you to a room."
Rey looked up to the tall woman, tears streaming down her face.
"I want to know w-where he is." Rey stammered.
Phasma nodded and led her to the infirmary. Kylo was still unconscious, but breathing well. Rey gasped, and covered her mouth with her hands at the sight of him. She turned to Phasma, who left her to be alone with Kylo. Rey sat outside of the Infirmary glass. Her eyes traced the marks of Kylo's scars. His chest rose slowly, permitting her thoughts to wander.
A few hours later, a BB-9E came to Rey, who was sleeping, and let her see him.
Rey sat by his bed. She held his late hand with her two petite hands. She rubbed the top of his hand with her thumb.
"Please Kylo..." Rey said, trembling. The closer held him, the more she felt her heart breaking.
