You pulled open the big green door to the front of the school building, struggling to keep all of your stuff in your arms. You looked around the building.
"Great," you mumbled to yourself, "nobody around, I'm late, and I have absolutely no idea where I'm going."
You decided to look for your locker first. You checked your schedule that had your locker number on it.
"Locker number: 2411."
They have over two thousand lockers in this school?"Dammit." you half yelled, clutching the paper tighter.
You walked to the closest locker, looking for the number.
1146.
"I'm gonna be here all night."
You spun around and began walking the other way when you heard a deep voice from behind you.
"Need some help?"
You turned around and saw a very attractive teenager leaning against one of the lockers. You could see his muscles through his tight black t-shirt. You looked at his face and noticed he was smiling.
"Uh..." you could feel your face heat up, "yea. Please." you said quietly as he walked closer to you.
"You know, school has already started. You're a little late." He joked.
"I know." You said laughing.
"What's your locker number?" he asked as he approached you.
"2411." You said, sighing, "but with over 2 thousand lockers I am never going to find it. This school isn't even that big! what are there so many lockers?" you said, unable to stop yourself from babbling.
You heard laughing and looked up to see the boy you just met grinning at you.
"What?" you asked, confused.
"The two in front of the number is the floor your locker is on. Your locker number is 411. It's on the second floor." He explained, still smiling.
You smiled shyly and put your head down, feeling stupid.
"I will take you there! Come on." He said, taking your books and walking ahead.
You walked after him and followed him up the stairs.
"Thanks for carrying that." You said, glancng at him.
"Anytime!" he said with a smile.
You made it to your locker and put your stuff inside.
"So... you're new here. Where are you from?" The boy asked.
"I lived a few towns over. I went to school at Greenfield. We moved when my mom lost her job and found one here." You explained, shutting your locker.
"So you know you're way around the town?" He asked.
"Nope. Not at all. In fact, I really don't think I know how to get home from here." You said, laughing.
He stared at you, a smile spread across his face.
"What?" you asked.
"You should smile more," He said, "it looks good on you."
You blushed and looked at the clock on the wall. The next class was going to start soon.
"I guess I should go find my other class." You said, a little sad that you couldn't stay and talk.
"I guess so. It's just down the hall by the way, on your right."
You looked at him a bit confused.
"I saw it on your schedule." He smiled at you and you smiled back.
"Thanks again." You said turning to leave.
"You're welcome." He said as he watched you walk away.
You were halfway down the hall when he appeared beside you again, barely making a sound.
"I just realized that I never told you my name. I'm Liam." He said, extending his hand.
You took his hand and shook it.
"I'm (y/n)." You said with a smile.
"(y/n)." Liam said. He smiled. "I like it."
You laughed and turned into your next class, after saying bye to Liam. The bell rang and the teacher began talking when someone walked through the door.
"Liam, you're late." The teacher snapped.
Liam looked over at you and smiled.
"I know." He said, taking the seat next to you.
