You curled up under the warm covers, stretching out in bed. Any minute now. You stared at the clock. 10:28pm. He always shows up by 10:30. You rolled over on your other side and stared out the window. Nothing yet. You let yourself lay down, feeling how heavy sleep was making your eyelids. You couldn't go to sleep. Not without him. The nightmares will start again. You looked back at the clock. 10:31. A knock at the window startled you, causing you to jump.
You looked over and saw Isaac, sitting outside of your window. You ran to it and threw it open, pulling him inside.
"Sorry I'm late." He said, wrapping his arms around you.
"Better late than never." You said. You leaned forward and kissed him. His soft lips pressing gently against yours was enough to make your head spin.
"You look tired." He said. He grabbed your hand and pulled you towards the bed. He crawled in and moved the blanket, opening his arms up. "Come here."
You smiled at him and crawled in next to him. You pressed you face into his chest, inhaling his scent. He smelled like pine and mint. It was heaven. You instantly felt safer.
"Hey, Isaac?" You said. You figured he knew you would ask him something. He is a werewolf after all, so he can hear how fast your heart is beating.
"Yeah, babe?"
"Do you think Scott will be mad if he finds out about us?"
You didn't need to look at Isaac to know his reaction. He nodded. "I wish I didn't, but I do. He said the day I joined the pack, he only had one rule. That rule is to stay away from his sister, from you. I broke that rule."
You nodded. "I won't tell him then."
"Good." You felt his lips press against your head as you slowly drifted off to sleep.
That morning you woke up and snuck downstairs to get coffee. Scott was still sleeping so you grabbed a second cup and ran to your room.
"Here." You handed the cup to Isaac. "Two sugars, just how you like it."
He smiled and took a sip. "It's wonderful. Thank you."
You finished your coffee and set the cups on the nightstand.
"I should probably get going before he wakes up."
You nodded, wishing he didn't have to leave. Maybe if you just talked to Scott... No. It wouldn't work. You stood up and felt Isaacs strong arms wrap around you. You stood on your toes and kissed him, then watched as he climbed out the window and jumped off the roof, landing on the ground safely.
You closed the window just in time. Scott walked by your door. "Morning, (y/n)." He said with a smile.
"Hey Scott. How'd you sleep?" You asked. He walked into your room.
"Pretty good. I-" he stopped talking and stared around the room.
"Are you okay?" You asked your brother. He snapped out of whatever trance he was in and nodded.
"Yeah, yep. Uh, why do you have two coffee cups?"
You stared at the nightstand. Shit!
"Oh! One is... last night. I had coffee last night, and forgot to take my cup down this morning. So I got a new one."
Scott nodded. "Oh. Okay. Hey, Mom is working a late shift at the hospital tonight."
You nodded. "Thanks for the heads up."
Scott continued down the hall and you threw yourself on the bed. That was too close.-----------
That night Isaac showed up early. You had just gotten out of the shower and walked into your room when you screamed, but a hand quickly covered your mouth.
"Babe, do you want Scott to find us?" Isaac stared at, his eyes roaming up and down your body. You forgot you only had a towel on. You laughed and pushed Isaac back on the bed.
"Pillow." You said. He groaned.
"Just a peak?" He laughed.
You threw a pillow at him. "Not today!" You smiled and changed quickly, hoping Isaac wouldn't move the pillow. You just weren't ready for that yet, and he respected that.
"Done." You said. You sat next to Isaac and put your head on his shoulder. "So, why are you early? Not that I'm complaining."
He laughed. "I just wanted to see you."
You smiled. "Good answer."
You spent the rest of the night talking, curled up in bed. He was always there to comfort you and it made you feel like the luckiest girl in the world. You drifted off in his arms again, just like every other night.-----------------
You awoke to a loud crashing noise. You sat up quickly, Isaacs arm still around you. You looked towards the door, which was now lying on the ground. Scott was standing in the doorway.
"(Y/n) what the hell is going on?" He said. You watched as his eyes changed into a glowing red.
"Scott, it's not what it looks like! Please, just let me explain." You said, stepping in front of Scott.
"Isaac, I told you from the beginning to stay away from her." Scott stepped forward, walking towards Isaac. He grabbed him and pushed him against the wall, harder than he should have. The wall cracked as Isaac fell against it. Thankfully, it held up.
"Scott, please. I tried, I really did. But you don't understand-"
Scotts growl tore through the house. It was loud, and dominant. Isaacs eyes flashed yellow at the sound of his alphas growl.
"Scott!" You yelled. You ran towards him and grabbed his arm. He turned and looked at you. "Please. Let me explain." The red in his eyes slowly faded.
"Make him leave first." He said, gesturing to your boyfriend.
You stared at Isaac. He was gone in seconds. You were happy he didn't try to fight. It wouldn't have ended well.
"Scott.."
"No. I don't wanna hear it. I told you too! I didn't want you with him, or anyone else in the pack! It's too dangerous!" Scott yelled. He walked out of your room. You followed him down the hallway, back into his room.
"I know. I know you did, but I couldn't help it. We were just friends. And then, one night, you weren't here. You were with Kira and I was having nightmares! I didn't know what to do. Isaac stopped by to look for you and he found me crying in my room. He helped me Scott."
Scott stared at you. You could tell the anger was fading, possibly being replaced by guilt, for not being there for you.
"We don't do anything, Scott. He just helps me sleep. That's all. Yes, we are dating. But it's not like that. He really cares about me Scott. Why do you think he left so quickly when you told him to leave?"
"Because he didn't want to get his ass kicked." Scott said. You rolled your eyes.
"Scott, I love him. I really do. And he loves me."
"How long has this been going on?" Scott asked. He was calmer now. He sat on his bed. You walked over and sat next to him.
"We have been dating. For about a year."
"I mean, the nightmares. How long have those been happening?"
I stared at the ground. I tell Scott everything, but not this. I couldn't tell him this.
"(Y/n)?"
You looked at Scott. "Since... Allison."
Scotts eyes softened.
"I don't understand how you keep it together so well. I mean, I was right there but... You were holding her. I watched my best friend die in my brothers arms. I watched my brothers first love..." You couldn't continue. The tears were too much. Scott wrapped his arms around you.
"I don't always keep it together." He whispered.
You looked at your brother.
"For a while, I cried. Every night."
"Scott, why didn't you tell me?" You managed to say through sobs.
"Probably for the same reason you didn't tell me about your nightmares."
You nodded, understanding where he came from.
"(Y/n), Allison loved us both so much. She died saving us. She wouldn't have wanted it any other way. And you know just as well as I do that she's still protecting us, even when she isn't here."
You leaned into Scott, his grip around you getting tighter. You stayed like that until the crying stopped.
"I miss her so much, Scott."
"I do too (y/n). I really do."
You and Scott stayed that way for the rest of the morning. You spent the rest of the day going through pictures of Allison and sharing memories of her. You started to feel much better. By the end of the night, Scott gave you and Isaac his blessing.
This was exactly what you needed.
Everything was going to get better.
You went to your room and sat on the bed. You had a few minutes before Isaac would be back. You told him he could use the door but he liked the window more.
You spread out on the bed, staring at the ceiling. You thought about the impact Allison had on your life, as well as Scotts.
"Thank you." You whispered. You weren't sure if she could hear you, but you hoped she could. You smiled and sat up, hearing a knock at the window.
