Darkness Awaits~

Chapter 10

she smiled but something didn't seem right. I shook it off, deciding it was probably nothing. we all walked inside, following the directions 

(Nagai's POV)

We walked down the hall. Yama let out a sigh. "They touch Clair in any way and I'll kick their asses."  "Yama they just took her to wait for us since she didn't sign up. calm down" I patted my friend's back, trying to settle his nerves. "yeah... your right" he smiled at me. I heard Lida giggle behind me. "I ship this Bromance!" Yama looked back at her. "You better be glad I could be arrested if I slapped you right now." Lida giggled. "yeah I know. perks of being a princess." Yama growled quietly. "Shut up you three! look." Imari pointed at a girl with ginger hair, she wore a frilly nurse outfit and an eyepatch on her right eye. her other eye was green and a little shaky it seemed, making me a little tense. her actions looked a little bit like a mentally insane person would act, fidgety and shaky. she might have been a normal person but her movements sure as hell didn't seem like it.

"Hai! I'm Nurse Marina! You must be the volunteers I've heard so much about!" she got al jumpy and Excited. we all looked at each other, exchanging weird glances to make sure we were all thinking the same thing: this girl was not mentally stable. Lida took a step forward "Um.. yes, that would be us." Her iris's became smaller and she gave an evil grin. "GOOD!" she snapped her fingers and instantly there were two men behind each of us, one holding us still while the other put some kind of technology-based collar on each of us. "You're making a big mistake woman! When our parents find out King James will have you killed for this!" I snapped at her, struggling to escape. 

"Oh, you little cutie~...you're never gonna see your families again!" Imari raised her arm, obviously trying to cast some kind of spell. as soon as her hand started to glow with magic energy the collar transmitted a shock that caused her to scream and fall to her knees. "IMMIE!" Hirai tried to run over to Imari but was electrocuted as well. "Darlings... you signed up for this, so you are to obey any of the workers here. or the collars now locked onto your necks will electrocute you and drift you out of consciousness for a few hours, giving us enough time to punish you for disobeying us. Understood?" Yama tried to charge at her, swinging his arm to punch her before being electrocuted like the others. "Ah, the royalty is always the best behaved~ ...now. Dr. Nathan will be waiting for your awakening  in your cells." Lida and I made eye contact. she mumbled. "Awakening..?" I responded mumbling the better question. "what cells...what is she talking about?" darkness covered her lifeless eyes and both Lida and I were shocked by the collars. it felt like fire on my neck and I could feel all of my veins go numb and unconsciously I screamed out in agony.  My vision blacked out and I fell to my knees before falling over onto my stomach.

I Woke up in a cage like room with a glass wall all the other's were already awake. Lida was crying I'm guessing out of fear. something felt off. I looked down and saw I wasn't in the outfit I wore over here, I was wearing the same outfit as Hirai and Yama: a pair of black sweat pants and white shorts.  Lida and Imari were wearing Hospital like gowns that had the sleeves cut off. there was one thing I noticed that worried me: all of us had out arms exposed. and Lida's holding her upper left arm while crying. I ran over to my sister and skid to my knees in front of her. "Sis what's wrong!?" She looked up and removed her arm, there was a hole in her arm. My eyes went wide. "Don't go with them Nai... the referred to you as subject 20... they said you're the strongest of us... their gonna do something bad to you... I know it! they injected something into me earlier and it felt like my veins were being sliced open... they said we're all being injected with the same chemicals..." Imari spoke up next "They've been waiting for you to wake up. apparently, we're their subjects now. I knew something was up..."  she shook her head. right before I could speak a scientist with red dyed hair walked in wearing a lab coat. "Subject 20. please come with me." I heard 'Subject 20' and knew he was referring to me. a chill went down my spine as I stood up. the other 4 looked at me with pity, as if begging me not to go. "I don't have a choice, guys..." I walked towards the scientist and he closed the door behind us, locking it so my friends couldn't escape. He led me down a hall and into a room.  I felt the collar give a small shock, not much but enough to make it where I couldn't move. the scientist picked me up and sat me on some kind of surgical table, strapping me down by the forehead, shoulders, wrists, waist, knees, and ankles. I saw another male scientist enter the room. he had black hair, the tips of his bangs being white. his eyes were a deep blue, kinda like Hirai's. "Hello, Prince. So glad you could join me here. now let me make one thing clear. you disobey, and you will be punished. and as punishment for every time you try to escape, disobey, or fight back, you will be strapped down like you are now, and I will dive this into you're skin until I hit the bone, no matter how loud you scream. understood?" he held up a sharp scalpel up to my line of vision and fear stook me. I took a deep breath and prepared for whatever he was about to do to me. "Oh yeah and I might do the punishments just for fun, no one knows you are here so no one can stop me, I can do whatever I want to ya and your friends!" I tensed up as he laughed. I saw the one with red hair hand him a vile full of some kind of dark purple liquid. "Let me ask one thing. Is that the same substance that you injected into my sister before I woke up?" He nodded "Yes. though I only did it because I was getting impatient waiting for you to wake up. you were supposed to go first but you refused to wake up." I wanted to punch him so bad but I was strapped down so tightly I couldn't even move. He grabbed my arm and started pushing the needle in. I tensed up and clenched my teeth at the pain. my body tried to jerk up from the reflex of the pain but again, I couldn't move much.

"The first of five injections and you're already fighting back. tsk tsk, prince. Nurse Marina told me you were more behaved than that!" I heard him pick up the scalpel and my breathing became shaky.  He pressed it to my forearm until he pierced the skin, driving it deeper into my arm, cutting muscle and veins, causing me to scream out in pain.
