Andrew's POV
-------------------
I slowly open the door to Adeline's bedroom and walk inside, inhaling the soft scent of the previously lit Vanilla Candle.
It's been almost a week since she's been missing, and the police have absolutely no leads on her disappearance. According to her mother, Adeline was just in her room talking to herself. When her mother asked who she was talking to, she answered by saying nobody.
Her mother seems to think someone kidnapped her, but I want to think otherwise.
I know Adeline. She wouldn't be kidnapped that easy. Even if she was, the kidnapper would probably bring her back for talking too much.
I quietly sit on the edge of her bed, and scan the room.
A few band posters I had bought her, random doodles and sketches, pictures of her with friends. Pictures of her with me.
I sigh and turn my head away from the pictures of us, and my sight falls upon her laptop.
Our last conversation was her telling me she'd try out a myth.. But that was just bullshit.
I pick up her laptop, and place it next to me; turning it on.
I type in her way-too-obvious password; her favorite song- Sweet Perfection; and the first thing that comes up is her Tumblr page.
The post she was currently clicked on was talking about a few myths. My eyes skim the page, reading the usual shit. BloodyMary, CreepyPasta, SlenderMan.
She would never try out any of those, they're too 'stupid' for her.
That's when my eyes fall upon one that make my breath hitch.

Now that is something she'd try out.
I read the information and the instructions on it seem pretty simple.
Sit in a dark room in front of a mirror, and chant a few words. If it 'worked', then you would be taken.
I know that it's a stupid urban legend- but the police sure won't try it out, so I might as well.

Adeline's POV
-------------------
Using the sharp end of the weapon I was given, I draw an 'X' onto the Tic-Tac-Toe game I had engraved into the dirt.
I refused to join Night Watch for the first few days I came, but Christian eventually ended up dragging me out into the woods so I could, as he says, 'keep the tribe safe'. He debated on giving me a weapon at all, but when he saw me almost climb a tree when I saw a snake, he decided giving me a sword was probably the best.
"You know, if a herd of Cogs raided the camp, you wouldn't even notice." Christian complains, leaning against the tree next to me.
"Shh, I'm busy." I hush him, now drawing a circle into the dirt.
"Playing against yourself in a game of Tic-Tac-Toe isn't busy." He grumbles.
"Yes it is," I remark, "and might I say, I am a very tough opponent."
"You're supposed to be guarding the tribe, not playing some stupid game." He whines.
"Gosh. Someone's on their period." I mumble, stepping on the Tic-Tac-Toe game, camouflaging it back into the ground.
Night turns to morning, and -shocker!- nothing raided the camp.
I sleepily make my way into my tent- which I share with Serena- and fall into my bed.
I hear Serena make her way into our tent, and I immediately sit up, ignoring all the tiredness in my body.
"Serena! You've got to help me!" I plead, as she looks at me strangely.
"What is it this time?" She chuckles.
"You've got to join Night Watch! Christian is so boring!" I whine dramatically.
"What'd he do?" She laughs.
"It's what he didn't do." I roll my eyes, "He won't even let me play a simple game of Tic-Tac-freakin'Toe."
"You're overreacting." She laughs again.
"No I'm not!" I defend myself, "Please join the nightly watch."
"You know I can't," She replies, "plus, why don't you just ask for a night off?"
"Have you met your brother?" I remark.
Her lips form a smirk, and she pulls me out of my bed, and tugs me out of the tent.
"Where are taking me?" I ask her, as she drags me through camp. As we near Christian, we stop walking, and just as I'm about to ask another question, she kicks me in the leg. Hard. "What the-?!" I groan, but cut myself off as Christian turns around.
He gives Serena and I a questioning look, "What happened here?"
These were the moments I wish I could talk to people through their minds, because while I said one thing, Serena said another.
"I tripped." I rush.
"She got bit." Serena says over me.
Christian furrows his eyebrows.
"She tripped." Serena shook her head.
"I got bit." I change my answer.
She gives me a desperate look, and I motion for her to stay quiet.
"I tripped in the forest, so something bit me." I lie.
"She needs to take a few nights off from her shift." Serena adds on.
Her brother looks me up and down, sighing, "Fine. Serena, heal her ankle. I'm giving you two nights off." He says blandly. What's emotion? Because he's obviously never heard of it.
He turns and walks away from us, and when we're sure he's out of earshot, we squeal in unison. She takes me back to the tent, and helps me into my bed, considering my ankle is actually hurting now.
"Well, you got me out of work, but now I think you broke my ankle." I joke, running my hand over my sore leg.
"Don't worry about your leg, I'll fix that in a minute." She smiles, softly placing her hand over ankle.
She shuts her eyes, and I hear her mumble a few inaudible words. She slowly removes her hand, and any pain in my entire leg disappears.
I sit there stunned.
She's like Repunzel! Except she doesn't have the magic hair... Just sweet magic skills!
"How did you.." I mumble, my eyes still wide.
"You got brought into this world by an incantation, did you really think that magic was nonexistent." She laughs.
"That's awesome!" I exclaim, examining my now healed ankle.
"I'll teach it to you sometime," She smiles, "but for now, get some sleep."
With that, she leaves the tent, and just as I lay my head onto my pillow, I begin to feel myself dozing off.
