Andrew's POV
------------
I slowly open my eyes, just to be greeted by my plain white ceiling. I groan in annoyance, and throw my pillow to the wall in frustration.
I've tried the stupid Mirror myth about 4 times, and I haven't been 'taken' a single time. I've thought about giving up, because I mean; what are the odds Adeline succeeded at this, right? But I can't give up. It's just not right.
I hear a soft knock at my door, and my mom walks in, "I'm glad to see you're awake." She smiles.
I force a smile in return, "Have the police got any leads on Adeline's disappearance?" I ask, sitting up, and stretching my arms out, yawning.
"No, they haven't," She sighs, "they'll find her, though." I just nod. "Come on, I have breakfast ready." She motions for me to follow her, but I don't move. "Andrew," she walks towards me, "Adeline would want you to eat." She puts a hand on my shoulder, "You and I both know that if she was taken, she can protect herself."
I nod slowly. It's true. She would try her best to fend off her kidnapper. But- what if her best isn't enough. What if her kidnapper ties her up? Then she'd be helpless. Then the creep would do whatever he wants to her. What if-
"Andrew?" My mom cuts me short of my horrid thoughts.
I look up to her, not saying a word.
"She's fine." She smiles.
"I know," I force another smile.
With that, Mom leaves, and I just exhale an annoyed sigh. I grab my phone from my bedside table, and click the power button, to be greeted by my home screen. I smile as I stare at my background picture.
It feels as if it were taken yesterday;
"Guys! Check it! I finally got my Polaroid!" Eva squeals, joining us at our picnic table.
"It looks sweet," I compliment, "does it take pictures?"
"Well duh, Dumbass. That's what a camera does." Eva laughs, "What should my first picture be?" She asks, looking around desperately.
"Ooh! Pick me!" Adeline raises her hand, "I've always wanted a Polaroid picture of me."
"Model for me, Darling." Eva laughs, faking a mediocre French accent.
Adeline stands up flipping her hair dramatically, and I just sit there watching her and Eva as they try and get the perfect pose.
I smirk forms on my face, as an idea comes into mind.
I walk over towards the girls, and tackle Adeline in a hug, "You can't be in the picture alone." I joke.
She struggles beneath my arms, "No! You'll ruin the picture!" She squeals, trying to push me away.
"Are you kidding? I'm the only thing making this picture bearable " I say, tightning my grip around her.
And that's when the camera was clicked, and the picture was taken.
In the photograph, I'm behind Adeline, my arms tightly secured around her, and she's laughing attempting to push me away.
I softly trace my finger across the picture, "I'll find you, I promise." I whisper. I get up off my bed, and walk over to my dresser mirror, "Get ready Sarken, you'll be taking me to the Mirror world tonight." I say, staring back at my reflection.
