My phone alarm buzzed for me to wake up and I swiped my thumb to turn it off. I climbed down the ladder and got dressed. I put on a gray shirt, black jeans, boots, and a jacket. I combed my hair so my bangs curled to cover for forehead. I wasn't wearing a hat today, so I had to do something with my hair. It was the last day of school and we had our last two finals. I grabbed a granola bar and ate it while waiting for the bus. I stuffed the wrapper in my pocket as the bus pulled up. The normal good mornings were said and I made my way to the back. It was the normal conversation between my friend and I as the others made jokes. I just couldn't believe it was the last day of school and that some of us would be getting jobs, going on vacations, and knowing some, moving. I just hope my group of friends stick together. We pulled into the loop and I made my way up to the front. We exchanged our have a good day and I stepped off. I waited for my friend and we walked into the school together, but separated for our lockers. I hung up my bag and took out my pencil and book. I walked into homeroom and nothing ever changes. Jenny sat on the heater while my other friend sat at her desk near the book shelf. My bus friend came in and we argued over a couple of words. The announcements came on and we were silent until they were over. We started on it again and soon enough, we had to leave to our testing rooms. I walked into Mrs. L's room and sat at the first desk of the second row. We did the Science final first and I somewhat knew my stuff, it was genes and punnett squares to predict what kind of gene the offspring would have. I finished up and sat in on the designated table. Everyone else finished up and the secretary announced to move to our next testing room. I stayed in Mrs. L's room with a friend of mine.

"You wanna go down and get a snack?" she asked.

"Yeah, sure." I said. We walked down the tenth grade hallway to a little space where there was a water fountain. To the right were racks filled with buckets of snacks. I grabbed a bag of chips and she grabbed chips and a small container of peaches. We headed back to the room and ate our snacks. It was than time to start the History final. I took my time on it since it was wars and whatever else me learned. I'm not the best in History, I don't know the wars or the presidents very well, so I was the second one to finish. I silently cheered on my friend next to me as she came to a closing. She closed up the packet and sat it on the table. Soon, everyone else was finished and my friend and I returned to the snack room. She grabbed a couple of things for her lunch and I grabbed a water. We headed back and the announcements came. After they were done, we went to our homerooms and I cleaned out the rest of my locker. I grabbed the rest of my binders and whatever else was in there and stuffed it in my bag. I threw it on my shoulders and waited to be dismissed.

They announced the dismissal and we all poured out of our homerooms and the school building. We boarded our buses and took the ride home. It was the same, the guys making jokes and me laughing along. I soon had to get off and take the walk up the driveway. Stepping into the house, I heard my name being called. I went to the kitchen to see my mom and dad at the island. Mom grabbed her car keys as dad grabbed his jacket. I knew where we were going, so I threw my bag on the steps and went to the car.

We pulled up to a medium sized house and parked the car by a small shed. I got out of the car to see Jenny's house. It was blue with a stone wall surrounding the bottom for the basement. We walked up the steps and my parents knocked on the door. Jenny's mom came out wearing a sun dress and half of her hair pulled up.

"Oh, hello. You must be Toby's parents." she said and mom and dad confirmed. "Come in, please." she said stepping aside to let us in. I noticed Jenny standing near the stair case talking to her dad. She noticed me after the door closed.

"Jenny, take Toby on a tour of the house." her dad said. She nodded as the adults went into a little meeting room. The living room was laminate flooring that was covered with a white, fuzzy rug. To the left, was a sectional with a blanket draped over the edge. A book shelf was against the wall with a lamp and a plant on the top. Next, was a longer stand with more books. Above it was the TV on a sheet of glass. To the right, on display, were two glass door cabinets, one with wine glasses and one with a rock. On the floor, was a much bigger pot with a plant sticking out. In the middle of the rug, was a two layer table. A bowl of fruit sat on the bottom while a glass of champagne sat on the top. The bottle sat on the floor, leaning against the table.

The kitchen floor was also laminate. To the right was the fridge with cabinets on the top. A counter was next with more cabinets and a silver, stainless steal toaster in the corner. The sink was next with the rest of the counter, the stove was to the left with a counter for that. She lead me upstairs to the bathroom.

A step in shower was to the left and a small wall divided the shower and the sink. On the left side of the wall was a hand towel holder and in the middle, was the sink with the mirror above it. To the right of the sink was the toilet. She than lead me to the bedrooms. Her house was also a medium sized, two bedroom house.

We walked into her parents room which had the same kind of flooring as the rest of the house. Once you walk in, you are greeted by the bed which had a nature feel to it. The sheets were white, but the blankets had a design of tree branches, flowers, and birds. A night stand sat beside it and held a lamp. Another lamp hung over two, white chairs with pillows. A small stand sat in between the chairs. On the wall between the second and third window, hung two frames of their wedding. Next was the door to the closet and a stand holding a flat screen TV. She than lead me to her room.

The color of her room was an ocean blue with the same color rug covering her entire floor. I was met by a bed side stand with a Bible and a pink poodle statue. Next was her bed which was blue and white with a dark green, knitted blanket draping over the foot of her bed and a straw hat wrapped in a blue ribbon sitting in the middle. Next was a stand that held a lamp with peace sings covering the lamp shade. On the wall was a fire place, but the fire part was taken out and replaced by a painting. Plants lined the top of it with a painting on the wall. A lamp was in the corner with a blue chair and a dresser. Two, blue bean bags sat next to a window as a vanity desk sat next to the door. We went back downstairs as the adults came out of the meeting room.

"So, we'll be leaving this Friday at four in the morning, so we'll need you to come over on Thursday." Jenny's mom said. I nodded. Jenny clapped with joy in her eyes and hugged me.

"Do you have clothes for the trip?" her dad asked. I nodded again. We said our thanks and goodbyes and we left. I had Wednesday and Thursday morning left to pack and I'd be on my way. We got back to the house and ate dinner. I changed and went to bed.
