I woke up to the sun beating on my face. I looked to the window to see the outside calm and still, as if nothing happened and there was no rain. I looked at my phone to see it was Tuesday, I must've slept through yesterday morning and afternoon after that walk and the encounter. I than realized I was sitting up on something. I blinked and rubbed my eyes as I heard shifting from underneath me. I looked to see Chucky laying there with his leg dangling off the bed. I smirked and decided why not. I laid back down and scooted closer to him. I laid my head on his chest and threw my arm around him. He must've known I was there since he turned towards me and pulled me closer. He laid his hand on my back and stayed there. I closed my eyes and pretended to sleep just to see what he would do. His arm retracted from my back and ran through my hair.
"Hey, pretty girl. It's time to wake up." he said. I slowly opened my eyes to meet with his blue ones. He smiled to only make me smile and smirk. I lifted myself up and I felt him rub my back.
"Thank you." I said.
"For what?" he asked.
"For staying with me." I said. He nodded.
"Ah, it wasn't a big deal. After seeing you collapse I kind of went into big brother mode and told everyone to get away from you, that I could handle it." he said. I nodded. He stood up and walked over to me. He grabbed my hand to help me stand up, but a wave of heat came over me and knocked me back down.
"Woah." I said falling down on the bed as Chucky ran over.
"Hey, hey. You're OK, I've got you." he said wrapping his arms around me and laid my head on his chest. My breathing became heavier and I was lightheaded. He rubbed my back and pulled me closer as he tried to calm me down. I felt sweat forming on my face and my eyes forming tears. I sniffled and buried my face in his shirt.
"I-I'm s-sorry." I said grabbing his shirt. He continued to rub my back.
"Hey, don't be sorry. It's OK, you're fine. I'm here with you and I will make sure no one hurts you." he said trying to keep me calm. He kissed the top of my head and I stopped crying. He lifted my head to make me look at him so he could dry my tears and pull me closer. He kissed my head again and continued rubbing my back. I took in a deep breath and exhaled it. I laid down on his chest again and fell back to sleep.
