Wide Open Spaces (A Kobra Kid x Original Character Story)

The Last Performance

/"One, two, three, four!" Natalie exclaimed and the band started playing. It was a colder night in the desert and every time there was a cool night, no doubt, you could find a party to go to. And at one of those parties each time, a little girl band called The Blacktops./

/After a few fast paced and loud songs, the set is over and someone turns up the radio making another loud, fast paced song to keep people from getting too comfortable because at any moment you might be compromised and need to get up and go./

/Vega had retreated to a corner with Val's gang where she was being scandalized by Valentine's hands. The rest of the band except for Kayla and Katelyn were inside the little shack where this party was taking place, drinking their lives away./

/Kayla was sitting at the end of the stage with a random girl by her side while Katelyn was talking to a boy with yellow hair on stage./

/They had all heard the rumor that this party was a setup for Korse and his posse but we were wise and fast enough to get away or die trying if they did come. But of course, like all parties once everyone got a little too drunk no one was up or able to fight Korse or his goons./

/The party escalated to that point and each band member was off doing their own thing. Maya, later known as Disco, was making out with some wannabe Siouxie Sioux inside on a couch, Talisa, later known as Sunshine, was talking to some dude on the roof as they chugged 40's and threatened to push each other off, Kayla, later known as Blast, was sat on the edge of the small pool, soaking her feet in, Katelyn, later known as Ritalin, was asleep on the couch next to Maya as she was making out, and Natalie was stood on stage singing an old song from 1992 for a bunch of burnouts./

/No one knew what would happen that night but one of them wouldn't have made it out of there alive./

/While on the roof, Talisa saw Korse and his goons driving fast toward the shack they were perched in and she quickly stood up and ran downstairs to warn the others. She woke Katelyn up and they quickly went and hid in the underground safe haven./

/Maya, gathered all the people from inside, including who she would later learn was Lynz and Show Pony, into the safe haven and quickly rushed to the front where Natalie sang, unaware of the imminent threat./

/Vega was already escorted down by Val and his twin counterparts and they were safe from Korse. The best plan was to get everyone squeezed into the small safe haven so Korse would just leave empty handed./ 

/Maya had somewhat of an on and off again relationship with Natalie but cared for her just the same through thick and thin. So, when Maya heard that Natalie was still outside, practically waiting for him to imprison or kill her, she rushed out to grab her and get inside./

/Talisa had gone back onto the roof and saw that Korse was no more than half a mile away. She quickly ran downstairs to wait it out and hope that everyone else got in okay./

/Natalie had her eyes closed as she belted out an old love song that Maya had written for her. Maya opened the door to the front of the house and saw other's scrambling to get inside as Korse and his bad guys surrounded the house./

/"Natalie!" Maya screamed as Korse set his sights directly on Natalie's undisturbed self./

/Korse aimed directly at Natalie's chest and shot his shot./

/Maya's voice was gone as she tried to scream and collapsed to the ground. Natalie collapsed as well but with no breath left in her body./

/Korse smiled./

/Someone from inside the party pulled Maya from the ground where she lay and pulled her into the safe haven. Maya fought back, thinking that she would be better off dead than left alone without her love./
