"Brooklyn Grace Robins!" A voice called out. It didn't matter who it was, I was in trouble. There were very few things that I would be in trouble for.
I know it wasn't the fact I had a phone since I'm on my phone at this very moment and they totally would have taken it if they knew I had it. If they learned about me dating Blake they would not be calling me downstairs, they would be up here yelling at me before leaving to kill him, so that was another reason marked off of my mental list. The only valid reason left was that Blake would be tutoring me.
I was slow to make my way out of my room, not wanting - nor ready - to deal with the conversation that I knew was coming. I got down to the living room where, thankfully, only four of my brothers sat.
It was the older four of the boys and grnerally they went the slightest bit easier on me since they actually realize making me cry will only make it worse in the long run. Cole sat calmly on the arm of couch, probably only here to be sure I was more comfortable while Alex was sprawled over the length of the same couch. Justin was leaning on the banister of the stairs with pursed lips and Jackson had his phone in one hand an his head in the other while he rubbed his temples.
"Yes?" I acted normal, as if I didn't know anything but that was an obvious lie.
"Why did your school call to tell us you allowed Blake tutor you?" Jackson sighed and rubbed is forehead a bit more vigorously before looking up at me.
Those snitches. They weren't supposed to say I allowed it, even though I did.
"Because they offered." I gave a short answer.
"Why did you accept?" Jackson closed his eyes to hide the irritation.
"I need help with math, they said he was good." I shrugged. Much like I did, Cole let out a laugh.
"Blake? Blake Anders? Good at math?" He checked, once again - just like I did.
"That's what I thought! Apparently he's some math genius." I folded my arms.
"Ho- No, you know what that doesn't matter right now. Why didn't you get Jax or Jason's help?" Jackson also seemed very confused at the idea of Blake being good at math.
"Well, are they at the top of college level courses?" I asked sassily.
"What- how the fuck?" Justin muttered to himself but shook his thoughts away, "You don't need someone who is good at college level courses, Brooke. Just someone who can teach you the math you need."
"Are you seriously gonna try and tell me that Jax and Jason know what they're doing. Because that is a load of bull and you know it." I gave him a knowing look. He groaned.
"What about Kyle?" He spoke quickly, trying to find someone else that could help me.
"Kyle is only a year ahead of me. I am working on my second credit. I need two more, both of which Blake can easily help me with. Listen, I love you guys, but this family is horrible at math. Kyle can only help me with one of the classes and god knows if he'd do it right. Blake can help me with two courses, both of which he passed easily." I looked at all the faces around the room.
Jackson was about to speak but the front door flew open and in walked the other three brothers. I threw my head back and let out a groan.
"Why didn't you tell us about Blake tutoring you?" Jason immediately found his way into the new conversation.
"How did you find out?" I asked incredulously.
"Kyle told us-," little bitch, "and that doesn't answer my question." Jason's eyes were narrowed.
"Because I knew you guys wouldn't be happy about it." I only looked him in the eyes at the end of my answer. His eyes widened at me.
"Ya think?" He spat.
"Don't be a douche again." I told him, not wanting be in another large argument with him. He took a deep breath and then just strolled into the kitchen.
"So, why Blake?" Chase asked. My mind began to think of lies knowing that Blake told me that people in his little group couldn't know.
"Appare-," Justin was about to answer for me but I cut him off.
"His sister is a genius at math." I lied straight through my teeth but gave my brothers who truly knew a look.
"So am I." This time Chase was the one telling a huge lie. I narrowed my eyes.
"One, no you are not. Two, even if you were good in Geometry do you know anything about Algebra 2 or Pre-Calc?" I raised an eyebrow and he looked confused.
"Wait, it goes Alegbra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, then Pre-Calc? The fuck?" He mumbled to himself, taken off guard by the newfound fact.
"You don't even know what class we're in, how in the hell would you help me." I let out a light laugh.
"Language." Alex suddenly made his first comment of the day - and it was a stupid one. I rolled my eyes.
"If you guys don't want me to cuss then you guys can't either. It's hypocritical and everyone gains the habits they grow up around." I scolded him right back.
"Focus." Jackson clapped his hands.
"Listen, it's Blake coming over, teaching me what I need to know, then leaving. He's not coming over and locking himself in my room. Get Kyle to sit with us or one of you guys can sit in there, because: Surprise, Blake doesn't only mess with girls." I spoke sarcastically.
"Door stays open, Kyle and/or Cole will monitor you guys." Justin spoke defeated. Jackson slapped his arm. "What? Are we really gonna continue to argue just to come to the same agreement?" Justin rolled his eyes at Jackson.
"No but you still could have consulted me first!" Jackson seemed almost insulted.
"Well, do you have anything else you'd like to add?" Justin stared at Jackson, knowing the answer.
"No." He said passively but like a child.
"Also, be sure to tell us a day in advance, Brooklyn." Justin added.
"Gotcha, anything else?" I grinned, happy with the outcome of this situation.
"No." Jackson answered for both him and Justin, trying to get his small dose of revenge.
"Oh but Kyle wanted to tell you he was coming over later." Jax said. It was odd for Jax to speak, he was always the one who liked to watch but never liked to be involved, which I understand.
"Oh come on! Didn't he just see you like two hours ago? Can't boys just stay away, oh my god!" Jackson groaned and ran up the stairs. All eyes for some reason went to me.
"You put him in a bad mood, you fix it." I told Justin and then copied my brother and ran up the stairs and into my room.
