First idea in this book; Dear Evan Hansen missed an opportunity.
Okay, so in the song "Requim", The most impactful part is:
"'Cause when the villain falls,
The kingdom never weeps,
No one lights a candle to remember,
No, no one mourns at all,
when they lay them down to sleep,
So, don't tell me I didn't have it right,
Don't tell me that it wasn't black and white,
After all you put me through,
don't say it wasn't true,
That you were not the monster,
That I knew..."
And that could have been used later on! I mean imagine if we had a "Requiem Reprise"! Just, slower at this point for a somber effect.
At the end of the musical, when Evan is found out, Connor just starts to accept it, but really, it's Evan realizing he had Connor all wrong, and he starts to feel horrible about it. Keep in mind, Connor is a figment of Evan's imagination, right now.
"'Cause when we fall,
The kingdom never weeps,
No one will light a candle to remember,
No, no one cares at all,
When we take our final leap,
So, don't tell me that they didn't have it right,
Don't tell me we aren't black and white,
After all we put them through,
Don't say it was true,
That we were not the monster,
That they knew..."
Just! The opportunity was there! Why didn't they use one of the best lines in the musical again? Also, Connor needed more songs.
This would have been a great motif at least. The "falling" in the first line wasn't intentional, it didn't correlate to Evan. Zoey could have referred to her brother as "the monster" more. And then that would add something to both their characters. Or there could have been a line where she referred to her family as a kingdom. They just missed out on so much right here.
This is probably going to be updated more than my other books because I have a lot of random ideas. Anyway, thank you for reading.

RandomI have a bunch of ideas randomly and not all of them relate to my other stories, so I'm going to put all of them here. I also put any things I want you all to vote on here. This has turned to mostly sanders sides, as has most of my life.
