A kiss is like singing into someone’s mouth

Anonymous

-Nathan’s P.O.V -

This time I knew I wasn’t seeing things. Adam had just kissed Sephy for, who knows how long? Who cared? He’d kissed her.

So she’d lied?

‘Nathan?’ Gina brought me back down to earth with a thud.

‘Shit, I’m sorry... I’m not normally like this...’

Gina grinned, ‘I’m sure. It’s that girl isn’t it?’ I opened my mouth to deny it, but, what was the point?

‘Yup.’

‘She was with you at Maggie’s with that guy.’ I nodded once again.

‘That’s her.’

‘And, I’m sure you only called me to get your head off her, but she happened to turn up... Right?’ I looked at Gina for a moment. She was grinning good-naturedly.

‘Hmm,’ I half smiled. ‘Can I phone a friend?’ Gina laughed.

‘It’s okay. Everybody has those days all the time. Or those relationships shall I say?’

‘Really?’ I asked, ‘because before Sephy, I never did.’

‘Ooh, so she’s your first love?’ Gina giggled, leaning into the table.

‘Nah, I wouldn’t say love,’ I said.

Oh, sure. I see that look. People don’t get that jealous unless their either dating that person or in love. Seriously Nathan.’ I winced at Gina.

‘I don’t know. She’s, so, confusing.’

‘What girls aren’t?’

‘You,’ I stated.

Gina laughed, ‘then I’m doing something wrong!’ I laughed too.

‘Well I’m glad you are! How is a guy meant to know how you feel if you hide everything?’

‘Meh. If it’s right, you’ll know. Just like that.’

‘Really?’ Gina smiled slightly.

‘Most of the time. That’s how I knew.’

My eyebrows rose, ‘are you, with someone?’ Her lips twisted.

‘No, he, we were... But then he moved away. His dad got a new job.’

‘Oh. Sorry.’ Gina laughed.

‘He isn’t dead! There are more fish in the sea,’ she joked. ‘More fitties in the gym. Or in the cafe.’ I laughed.

‘Thanks.’

‘Yeah. We see each other sometimes.’ She sighed. ‘When he comes back, but we decided there’s no point trying at a long-distance relationship. If he ever moves back, then sure, but otherwise everything just gets so complicated and stuff. You know?’ I nodded. ‘But, enough about me, why is she with that guy? Is he her boyfriend?’

‘No. That’s the problem. She has a boyfriend but they aren’t working, and the guy she’s with now... Well, he’s apparently gay so... What the hell? Where do I fit in?’

‘Whoa, he isn’t gay! I saw that kiss!’

I sighed, ‘you see my dilemma.’

‘So kiss her.’
