Chapter 27-

**Ryan’s POV**

“Ryan, everything is ready” Steve told me.

I nodded and grabbed my phone and keys.

Tamara has been missing for a month and 22 days. I’ve been keeping count.

Today was the seventh time we had somewhat of a clue where she can be. We still hadn’t heard from any of them but we were following hints. An empty hint. Something in me told me they were somewhere far from here.

And something else told me, that Tom was the one behind this. It was beyond obvious. He has missed the same amount of time from school.

Nick and I decided to start working with the cops on this case. The only reason of why they let us was because Steve was a big friend of mine.

Plus, it would have taken a whole army to get me out of the police station.

Hints were telling us that the girls were in an abandoned house to half an hour from Tara’s house. But I just wasn’t buying it. Neither knew where these hints were coming from.

I was taking Steve and Nick in my car now. We were heading to that abandoned house.

I was too lost in my thoughts when I heard the Steve talk through his radio and say, “Abandoned Car”.

I turned my head so fast that I lost control of the wheel for a moment. “What about the abandoned car?” I asked while parking the car into some parking lot just to listen to what he had to say.

I turned in my seat and starred at him. Nick was just in the middle of the backseat waiting for an answer also.

Steve sighed and turned to look at us.

“They found Tamara’s car abandoned on an urban store outside the city” Steve said.

I clenched my jaw. I knew it.

She wasn’t in the city!.

“Where exactly??” I asked.

“I told you, somewhere-“ I cut him off.

“Exactly where?” I asked again. He looked confused before actually getting what I was saying.

“That’s near the woods” He said.

I smirked. “On my way” I said before going back on the road.

“No we can’t detectives are there right now. Checking for any blood or damages done”.

I froze.

“What?”.

“No, they didn’t find any bodies but we don’t know where the car has been” Steve said.

I hardened my grip on the wheel.

“We can’t go, well I can but not you guys” He said.

“I don’t give a hell if we can’t go, I’m going, I’m the one driving the car anyways” I retorted.

“Ryan don’t be stupid” I heard Nick say.

I slammed on the breaks and turned to him. “The more time we spend on following stupid clueless hints, the more time that damn guy has to hurt them! Did you already forget that he has Cindy too!!?!?!” I yelled.

I saw realization pass through Nick’s face and he then glared at me.

He was about to yell something  back at me when Steve interrupted.

“If you guys can’t control yourselves, I’m going to have to take you both out of this case” He said firmly.

We both looked at him. He can’t be serious.

“Let’s head back to your house” He added.

I glared at him but instead of saying something I will regret. I decided to head back to my house.

After that, Steve left in his car and dropped Nick off on the way.

I sighed.

What a mess.

I went and took a shower. Just letting the water run down my body and thinking to everything that has happened.

I was too lost in my own thoughts when the sound of my phone ringing made me jump.

I looked at the called I.D and was marked as unknown.

I frowned. They can leave a message. Soon, the phone stopped ringing but any voicemail came in.

Before I could go back under the water, my phone started ringing again. It was that unknown number again.

I starred at it, thinking who could be calling me from an unknown number. It is already 10pm.

I sighed and decided to answer it after drying my hand with the towel. Whoever it was better have some good news to tell me.

I pressed the answer button and said, “Hello?”.

There was a small cough on the other end and someone whispered, “Ryan”.

My eyes widened and I felt my heart stop. “Tamara!” I said surprised.

“Listen, I don’t have much time. I’m outside of the city, this is my phone but they don’t know I have it. Cindy and I are okay for now. Please help us” She said, but I could hear like she was crying.

“Is it Tom?” I asked.

“Yes. He got obsessed, and- and” She cut herself off.

“Tamara? Tell me where are you!” I said.

Click.

Dammit!.

I starred at my phone and saw it was past the 40 seconds. Maybe they could track the call down.

I immediately called Steve and said, “You better come to my house, now”.

*********

Sorry for not updating for sooo long :/ .
