"Keep your foot in that position, Ash. Good Lilith!" Shiro smiled at his niece and nephew. "You guys are pros at this. Now remember what I taught you so far and use it to block each other's attacks." He stepped away and crossed his arms. Lilith sighed and breathed in. Strands of her raven hair stuck to her forehead. Across from her, her younger brother stood in a fighting stance. He swiveled his dagger, aiming it towards her."Come at me!" With two fingers he motioned to her. Lilith rolled her eyes and with another big sigh, started for him. She held her dagger out, ready to block any attack. Ash went right to attack, but was cut off guard when Lilith rolled onto the ground and knocked him over. He gasped, eyes wide, landing on his back. Lilith took this opportunity and kicked his dagger out his hand and pinned him down. Her blade close to his neck.
"Very good!" Shiro clapped. Lilith nodded and stood back up. Ash still a bit stunned, sat up and looked up at her.
"Dang.." Dirt covered his whole back. He frowned. "How are you so much better?" Lilith shrugged, setting her dagger in its holder.
"I guess I have more of moms genes than you." Ash pouted and looked away from her.
"Now, come on." Shiro helped Ash up. "You two are very good. It takes time and patience."
"Tsk, not for Lilith." Ash crossed his arms. Shiro sighed, shaking his head.
"Maybe we should stop for today. Both of you need showers." He guided them back inside the grand castle of the Ja'al kingdom. A maid had hurried by with a bowl of water and cloths. Shiro tilted his head and stopped her. "Is everything alright?" He had noticed she seemed frantic and in a rush. The alien women looked up at Shiro.
"It's the half galra in your group. He's having strong pains." Both Lilith and Ash's eyes widened. They looked up at Shiro with concerned looks. Shiro nodded.
"Thank you." He turned over to the two kids.
"I-is mom alright?! Is he having the baby?!" Ash asked frantically. Shiro laid his large hand on his shoulder.
"He's not due yet.." Shiro looked into the distance. "Come." He rushed down the large hall to Keith's room. He opened the door to see two maids preparing him. One setting a cold rag on his forehead. The other setting things up on a cart. Lilith and Ash pushed their way through to see Keith. Lance looked up at them. He was holding Keith's hand.
"Oh, mis hijos!" Lance came over, hugging his two kids.
"Is mom okay?" Lilith looked over at Keith. His eyes closed as he breathed heavily. Sweat dripping down his face.
"Yes, yes." Lance reassured them. Suddenly Pidge, Allura, Hunk, Matt and Coran (pretty much the whole freaking crew lol) barged in.
"Where's my new niece or nephew?!" Pidge looked around. She was the one to swing the doors open dramatically.
"Relax, Pidge." Allura put a hand on her shoulder and pointed to Keith. He looked to be in great pain. Pidge relaxed. Her eyes drooping.
"O-oh.." She came a bit closer to the bed. She looked like she was about to cry. "Is he gonna be alright?" Lance nodded.
"They say so." He looked over at Keith, wiping the sweat away with a cloth that was on the bedside table. "Thing is, we don't know what's going on."
"Him and the baby better be okay! I swear!" Pidge put her hands on her hips. Lance smiled sadly.
"Yeah.." One of the monitors went off. Keith groaned in pain, clutching at his swollen belly. The maids that were there started to move around, prepping for the birth process. Lance was scared, but excited at the same time. His first actual child was about to be born. He stood close to the bed, rubbing Keith's shoulders. "You know the procedure. Uhm..!"
"Push with all you got, Keith!" Pidge cheered, jumping up.
"This is not a football game!" Keith yelled back at her. He groaned and plopped his head back on the pillow. Everyone was around him, talking, trying to calm him down or soothe him. "G-guys.." he said a bit softly. No one listened. Keith huffed. "GUYS!" Everyone stopped what they were doing and turned to look at Keith. He held his stomach with one hand. "I-it was just a contraction. False alarm.."
"Oh.." Everyone said in unison.
"Welp, I'm done here.." Pidge walked out, Matt following her behind. Everyone was kind of disappointed and left the room. Lilith and Ash stayed behind to see their mother.
"Thank god." Lance sighed in relief. "You're alright." Keith looked over at him for a quick second before looking down at his bulging belly.
"Yeah, but I feel like everyone was disappointed." Lance was busy fixing things up in the room.
"Well, Yeah." He said, draining out water from a cup in the private bathroom. "Everyone is excited for another baby in the group. Having one around really lightens things up."
"It really does. Ash and Lilith are already big." Lilith nodded her head while Ash pouted.
"Mom, I could still be your baby." He crawled up in bed with him, snuggling close to his body. "Waa! Wa!" He made baby sounds, kicking his feet up. "See?" Both Lance and Keith laughed.
"Are you sure? You know babies can't play video games." Keith ruffled his short white hair. Ash gasped.
"No, no. I'm a big boy!" Keith chuckled.
"Big kiddos." Lance came over, helping Lilith onto the big bed. She snuggled at Keith's other side. Both laying their heads on his stomach. Lance had finished tidying up and laid next to Keith, kissing the top of his head. Suddenly Lilith gasped, looking wide eyed at her parents.
"I can hear the baby. They're moving a lot in there."
"What? Really?" Ash pressed his ear against Keith's belly. His eyes lightened up. "Oh, yeah!" Keith smiled, laying his head on Lance's shoulder.
"That means they're almost ready to come out." Ash looked over at Keith.
"Mom, how did the baby even get in your belly?" He asked. Lance snorted, covering his mouth to try and stop himself from laughing out loud. Keith's face went completely red.
"Oh, Uhm..! You see." Now Lilith was intrigued and looking up at him as well. Keith nudged Lance for help.
"I-it's like when Santa brings you gifts. Instead daddy gave mommy this gift." Keith looked at Lance with an odd look.
"Seriously?"
"What? It's pretty much the truth."
"Really? That's so nice of dad." Ash said and went back to trying to hear the baby. Lance couldn't help, but laugh. Keith hitting his side.
"One day they're gonna have to learn the truth." Lance whispered to Keith. Keith rolled his eyes and relaxed more.
"Yeah and one day you gotta learn how to be more mature, Lance."
"Yeah, Yeah.." Lance wrapped his arm around Keith. He smiled, watching his two kids poking, listening, and speaking to Keith's belly. "Mi pequeña familia."
