When Kris pulled up outside of her hair dresser's shop fifteen minutes later, her mind was still reeling from the email she had read earlier during her lunch with Kate and Castle. She quickly put it out of her mind and climbed out of the car. She made her way into the shop, instantly greeted by her regular hair dresser and taken to a chair to start on her hair.
A little over two hours later, Kris walked out of the shop with shiny new red highlights and trimmed hair. She had debated on whether to cut it to her usual length but decided against it, opting to let it grow out. She got in her car and made her way back to her apartment to get ready for the evening.
When Kris arrived at her apartment, she went to her bedroom and put her phone on charge. Then she went in her closet to search for something to wear. Deciding for casual, she opted for skinny jeans, a black Lost Boys t-shirt and red leather Doc Marten boots. The dark clothes made the new red in her hair stand out even more, which she was currently straightening in the mirror. After finishing her hair, she touched up her makeup and headed out to the living room. After sending a mass text to everyone that she was on her way, she took a water from the fridge and got her keys. Then she grabbed her favorite red leather jacket, one that she had stolen from Kate a few years ago, and headed for the club.
When she walked up to the front of the club, Russo was already waiting for her. He had his back to her but she would recognize that spikey head of black hair anywhere. She took a few moments to just to stand and stare at him. He had on dark fitted jeans that accented his rather fine backside, a red and black striped short sleeve button up shirt and black high top Converse. He had his head down, looking at his phone as she finally made her way over to him.
He turned around just as she reached him, a wide grin breaking across his face at the sight of her. "Hey sweetness. I like your hair."
"Why thank you." Kris said as she touched the top of her head. "It needed a touch up."
"It matches your outfit." Russo replied on a grin. He reached his hand out to her. "Shall we?"
Kris returned his grin and took his hand. She let him lead her into the club, giving a small wave to the bouncer manning the door. When they entered the club, it was packed to the hilt as always which made Kris smile. Lights were flashing in all different colors as people danced and drank. Kris immediately spotted Kate and Castle at the bar and led Russo over to join them.
Taking a seat beside her sister, Kris signaled the bartender over as she removed her jacket. "Hey, that looks awful familiar." Kate said, eyeing the jacket closely as she sipped her Jack and Coke.
"It should. I stole it from your apartment like two years ago." Kris replied with a shrug, giving her sister a big smile.
"You what?" Kate gasped.
"Oh don't look so shocked. You clearly haven't been missing it if you just now realize it's been gone." Kris stated in annoyance.
When the bartender arrived, Kris placed an order for everyone then turned back to face Kate who was still scowling at the jacket that now lay on the empty bar stool beside Kris. Kris just rolled her eyes and turned to Russo, giving him a small kiss.
"So how was your day?" Kris asked with a smile.
"Not too bad. I visited my parents, helped my dad clean out the gutters." Russo replied as he took her hand.
"Sounds like fun." Kris said as the bartender arrived with their order.
Kris took the bottle of water, handing Russo a beer before turning to hand Kate and Castle their drinks. Kris took a swig of water, feeling Kate and Castle's stares burning into the side of her head.
