Kris woke up Thursday morning to the ringing of her phone. Hitting the silence button, she slowly untangled herself from Russo and headed to the kitchen. She pulled up her call log to see that she had two missed calls from Kate and three from Lanie. Checking the time, she saw it was after one in the afternoon. The past three days had been killer at work and she was thankful to have the rest of the week off for the wedding. Throwing a black silk Folgers k-cup into the Keurig, she pulled up Kate's number and hit the call button.
"Bout time you rose from the dead." Kate greeted her sister.
"Hello to you too." Kris replied as she pulled her steaming cup from under the coffee maker. "I was up late."
"You're worse than a horny teenager." Kate scoffed.
"You would know Miss poetry slam." Kris mumbled as she blew her coffee.
"Screw you." Kate snapped. "Anyway, everyone's waiting on you."
"Seriously? The club doesn't even open until six." Kris groaned.
"Well you know Lanie and a party. Especially when she's co-hosting said party." Kate sighed.
Kris chuckled. "I'll be over after I get a shower and kick a sexy cop out of my bed."
"Eww. Enough before my ears start to bleed." Kate gagged.
"Oh yeah, cause hearing about all the times you and Castle have boned in the supply closet are just music to my ears." Kris replied sarcastically.
"I'll see you later." Kate replied quickly then hung up.
Kris laughed to herself as she finished her coffee then made her way back into her bedroom. Russo was still passed out, face down in the pillow. Kris smiled as she took in his muscular back. Pulling some clothes out of the closet, she made her way into the bathroom to shower and get ready.
When she emerged from the bathroom forty-five minutes later, Russo was still incapacitated. Knowing she needed to get to Kate's as soon as possible, Kris climbed on the bed and straddled Russo's hips. Leaning down, she kissed him on the neck until he started to stir beneath her.
"Mmm." Russo mumbled. "Keep doin' that and we won't leave this room today."
"Sorry baby, but you know what day it is." Kris smiled as he kissed her.
"Party day." Russo mumbled against her lips.
"Mmm hmm." Kris replied as Russo slipped her Pusheen shirt over her head.
"It can wait a little longer." Russo said as he rolled them over on the bed.
"Damn straight it can wait." Kris replied as she pulled Russo's head down and crushed her lips to his.
When Kris showed up at Castle's apartment over an hour later, she knew she was busted. As soon as she walked through the door, Kris heard the catcalls start. When she entered the living room she saw Kate and Lanie sitting on the couch while Martha and Alexis occupied the opposite chairs.
"Come tell mama all about that fine ass man that's kept you from us all day." Lanie said as she patted her lap.
"I'm surprised she can even walk." Kate stage whispered.
Kris rolled her eyes as she trudged over to the couch and fell into the couch.
"Baby Beckett's all grown up and in love." Lanie said as she squeezed Kris in a hug. "I'm so proud of you baby girl!"
"Yeah, yeah." Kris mumbled as she crawled into Kate's lap like a baby monkey. "Where's writer monkey? I'm shocked he's not begging to go with us."
"He's playing poker with the boys tonight." Kate replied as she played with Kris' hair. "I think he was going to see if Russo wanted to join them."
