(A/N: Ok, so I started watching this series on Netflix called "Everything Sucks" and part of it gave me this idea...it's for "I Won't Say (I'm In Love)" from Disney's Hercules and set when they're all in high school, so before Hannah and Beth disappear.  By the way, I'm a huge Chrashley shipper...but for the sake of this fic...sorry...)

    ~~~Your POV~~~
    "Don't forget guys, auditions for 'Hercules' are this Friday!"  I heard Hannah Washington's voice from down the hall.  I walked up to her and she gave me a bright smile.  "(Y/n)! You're auditioning right?  I've heard you sing, you'll get in for sure!"
    My face turned beet red.  "I don't know, Hannah.  I mean, I sing in the shower and at karaoke nights, but I don't know if the high school musical is a great idea."
    "Awww, come on, (Y/n)!  I'm auditioning, and I know I can't sing for shit."  Chris Hartley came up behind me and patted my shoulder.  "Someone's gotta play the totally awesome and sexy Hercules, right?"  He laughed heartily while flexing his arms.
    "All I know is, you all are gonna be listening to me, since they asked me to direct."  Joshua, Hannah's older brother, came around the corner and put his arm around his sister's shoulder.  That made sense to me, since Josh was not only a senior like Chris, but had aspirations of making movies like his producer dad.
    Hannah laughed and patted Josh's hand.  "Sure, bro.  Like any of us are gonna listen to you."  She looked at me again, then noticed my face hadn't left its flushed state yet.  Chris was still within arm's reach.  She had been aware of my crush on Chris for a while, but had been kind enough to keep it under wraps.  It was actually a mutual blackmail, since I knew about her raging crush on Mike Monroe and kept her secret as well.
    Hannah's twin sister, Beth, and our other friend, Ashley Brown, snuck up behind me and double-teamed me with hugs.  "(Y/n)!  You have to do the musical!  We're all involved, of course!  Hannah and I are doing sets, Josh is directing, Ash is working with the script, and everyone else is auditioning."  Beth rested her head on my shoulder and made a pouty face.
    I sighed audibly and hung my head in acquiescence. "Fine, fine, I'll try out.  But that doesn't guarantee I'm gonna get in!"  The girls group-hugged me and jumped up and down excitedly.  "Ok, ok, girls, I gotta get to class!"   We all split up, but I couldn't help but notice the way Ashley looked at Chris.  Did she have a thing for him too?  Did he like her back?  Crap.
I chose my song and decided to do a song that was actually from the musical itself.  I rehearsed all week, with Beth's help, and when auditions came on Friday, I was sure I was ready.  I stood in the auditorium, waiting my turn.  I watched our friends Samantha, Emily, Mike and Matt also audition for different parts.  Chris and Ashley stood up by the stage as he'd just finished his audition to play Hercules.
    Then I saw Chris kiss Ashley's cheek.  And my heart stopped.
I couldn't breathe.  I walked briskly out of the auditorium to catch my breath.  I went into the restroom to calm down and looked in the mirror.  My eyes were starting to water and ruin my makeup.  I grabbed a paper towel and tried to fix it when Sam came into the bathroom.  "Hey, (Y/n).  You're up in five minutes, hon.  Are you alright?"
I wiped my face quickly and turned to her.  "Yeah, I'm good.  I'll be ready in five."  She left and I finished fixing myself, then went back to the auditorium.  Chris tried to make eye contact, but I couldn't look at him.  I walked up to the stage and motioned to Beth, who was playing piano and singing backup for me.  I made the best motions possible to dramatize the song, which was far easier when I really felt the words at that moment.
