The Love Of A Fusion.

What do you mean she's gone?

(Third persons pov)

It was in the early hours of the morning that the two gems resting on a pillow started to glow.

They slowly rose up from where they rested, the Light they projected was enough to stir the young boy sleeping in his bed from his sleep.

He slowly sat up, rubbing his eyes before his attention was drawn to the gems that had the outline of bodies forming around them.

In a small burst of light the two forms dropped to the floor, landing with light thuds.

Steven scrambled put of his bed and crawled over to the ledge over looking the living room. He peeked over the edge as the two short gems. One green and one blue.

Aqua was the first to scan Her surroundings befor launching herself at Jade. She grabbed the girl in a hug as she let out a yell at the sudden embrace.

This sound however caused the crystal gems to come charging out the temple, weapons drawn and ready for a fight. These weapons however slowly lowered as they watched the spectacle in front of them unfold.

The small green gem let out a yell as she tried to avoid falling over but she failed miserably as her and her lover fell to the floor in a heap.

This however did not last long as she took notice of the gems holding their weapons. Her own weapons came out in that moment. A pair of daggers rested in her palms as she stood protectively in front of Aquamarine.

"Jade?" pearls voice came out quiet and almost strained. At her tone jades eyes widen before a grin spread across her lips and she charged forward, hugging pearl as her weapons disappeared.

"If it isn't my favourite pearl. Still deciding what to do on her own."
Jade muttered with a teasing tone to her voice as a small blush crossed over pearls face.

Aquamarine on, the other hand had directed Her attention to the small boy peaking out at them. She gave a small wave and was rewarded with a grin before she was swept off her feet and placed in front of pearl.

She gave a quiet greeting to her old gem as a blush flushed across her own cheek. She wasn't the most social gem.

Meanwhile, Garnet And Amethyst were watching this scene unfold with confusion on who these gems actually were. It took a while for Aqua to calm Jade down enough from seeing Pearl again but a while later the five gems and Steven eaither sat on a couch or like Garnet, stood up.

As if a unspoken Que was given Aquamarine, Jade and Pearl explained how they knew eachother.

They had originally met when the war was first beginning. Jade had been a defect gem. She wasn't as tall or as strong as her gem type was meant to be and homeworld had decided this meant she was useless and was to be shattered.

Rose had saved her and welcomed her to the crystal gems. She had shown her the life that bloomed in earth and helped her understand why it should be protected not destroyed. And so She joined the rebellion against homeworld.

It was long after this that she had met a pretty blue gem called Aquamarine. She was quiet and had been quite the strategist for Roses army.

Jade has met her a rare few times but each time they got along well. It wasn't long until the two looked for each other when ever they were free. And they slowly fell in love.

At this point the war was in full swing and the fear off death lay heavy on their hearts. Each day they saw each other leave to fight they feared would be the last. But each day they came back. Each day they got to see each other once again.

It was a few years later that they met pearl, one of Roses closest friends. They had gotten along well from the beginning but they did have their problems with pearl sometimes.

And then it happened. Jade was captured and soon after Aqua was too. They were thrown into cells to be  questioned once they arrived back on homeworld. They would then be shattered.

However, the ship never reached homeworld as the captured gems managed to break free and take over the ship. They began their journey back to earth and back to the war.

The ship never made it to earth eaither. Another homeworld ship had attacked them. Blowing them apart. Shattered gems had floated through space that day along with two small gems who had not retreated into their gems surprisingly.  As they slowly fell into a long period of unconsciousness they reached out to each other and fused. That was the moment they realised. This was who they were meant to be.

After they had finished their tale Steven was asleep, leaning against garnet who now sat on the couch.

A small smile crossed Garnets face which soon turned into a full blown grin as Jade and aqua reached for eachother. A small laugh escapes aquas lips as she was twirled round. A bright light filled the room before Celeste stood there,  a small smile on her lips.

She eyed garnet with a risen brow before she sat down once more.

The tone I'm the room suddenly seemed to drop as she asked a simple question.

"Where's Rose?"

And do, The gems told her what had happened over the many,  many years she had been lost in space.

To say she was shocked was an understatement as her gaze fell on Steven. Rose Quartz only son.

"I promise I'll protect him. For Rose." she stated simply.

And with that the gems seemed to reach a silent agreement.

Celeste would stay as a member of the crystal gems.

I know it's not the most logical way for her to join by just being accepted like this but I can't spend all my chapters having her just being accepted.
