Those northern lights
Took away my breath of life
Where the wind is cool
If the colors of a butterfly
Could ever speak their mind
They'd be a jealous fool and I'd be there with them too
But the ones who push and shove
Are the ones high up above
Breathing in the same old air
Of the rest of us who care
Is he hanging up a scarecrow afraid his crops might go?
And is she hoping for some sunshine to take off her tan line?
And are you searching for a rainbow or just a pile of gold?
Some are lost in a dark life, but I found twilight
I'm not meant to be a leader
Too stubborn to follow
So I eat my words
But the truth is hard to swallow
I'm too dumb to be a teacher
Too deaf to be a student
I can't bear to watch myself
Act in haste or be too prudent
Is he praying for some rain drops thinking about his crops?
And is she talking like a train wreck, when that train has barely left?
And are you searching for a good soul the half to make you whole?
Most are lost in a dark life, but I found twilight
Life is like a dark night
But you're my twilight
Life is like a dark night
But you're my twilight
