When we got outside, we walked through some more confusing hallways to get the chariot. Once we got there, Devlin was there, getting some sort of powder put on his face by Parie. I also saw Peeta, making sure everything was going smoothly. When Devlin saw me, he gave me a half smile. He looked really good in his uniform. He had on a dark black jumpsuit along with some bright red shoes.

"Okay you too. You need to smile and wave and act like there are no flames coming off of you. a you need to be grateful!" Parie explained. Devlin and I nodded. We climbed upon the chariot.

"Devlin, hold my hand," I whispered to him. I was deathly afraid and I thought grasping something may calm my nerves. He grabbed my hand. Then the chariot began to move. Everyone stared at us, admirisome. Then everyone cheered. Roses and teddy bears were thrown by us! We waved and I even saw the slightest bit of pleasure on Devlin's face. We had the crowd. The chariot moved quickly, and I couldn't stop enjoying myself. I looked up at the president, who was staring at us with a sour look on his face. I ignored it and continued to enjoy my moment of glory. Adoring fans screamed our names! They just could wait to see the children of Katniss and Peeta battle it out in the arena! After much more applause the horses slowed down. Then the chariot pulled to a halt. President Zade Snow cleared his throat. He wore a grey jacket that was clean and crisp and a turquoise tie with an undershirt that was a lighter shade of grey.. He also wore blue shoes and the wrists of his jacket were full of diamonds. His face was slender and sharp. His dark blonde hair was slicked back but you could still tell it was curly. I couldn't help clenching my fists. I knew the reason I was picked was to punish my mother and father. My hatred for this horrid man was so strong, I don't have the words to describe it. President Zade adjusted the small microphone he had on and then began to speak.

"Greetings tributes! Welcome to the capitol. I looked around. All of the tributes looked ridiculous, especially district 3. They were dressed up as huge outlets to represent technology. I hope you all have enjoyed yourselves so far! "Good luck and may the odds be ever in your favor!" The chariots began to pull us away.

"Rosemary, loosen your grip, would you?" Devlin whispered. I let go of the tension in my hand and Devlin sighed with relief. We were taken back to where we began. The chariot pulled to a final stop. My father helped me off of the chariot as Devlin jumped off with a loud thump. ZuZu, my mother, Parie, Haymitch, and London all applauded.

"That was perfect!" exclaimed London and gave me a hug.

"You both could not have done better," explained my father. Good. I couldn't afford to do anything under perfect.

"Let's go now and celebrate!," exclaimed Parie. ZuZu expressed no interest in spending anymore time with us and went to hang out with a large group of her friends. Parie and London lead us all to an elevator. She pressed the number 12.

"Wait what is the 13 button for?" asked my mother.

"Um, District 13," replied London.

"Oh, I forgot they would be in the games," she said. My father put her arm around her. Then the huge elevator opened.
