I sat in the passenger seat of Corbyn's car, playing with the hem of my second hand dress. Every couple of minutes we would exchange glances but no words were spoken up until this point. Corbyn's lips formed a thin line before he spoke.
"So may I ask what happened between last night and now?" He asked calmly.

My fingers stopped fidgeting with the cotton as I tried to form a reasonable excuse in my head.
"I got a..uh... motel room and...stayed there the night," I stuttered in response.
"And your clothes?" He pushed, his eyes found mine as he drove along the the long stretch of road.
"I was robbed," I said a little too quickly.

Shit

There is no way he'd believe that

His right eyebrow arched in question and his thumbs tapped the wheel nervously. He turned his head to face his window and he scoffed to himself.
"I can't believe I let my girlfriend get robbed," corbyn whispered to himself.

Guilt instantly washed over me, I was bathing in absolute regret.
"It's not a big deal, it's okay," I mumbled.

We sat in silence for a couple of minutes before Corbyn asked,"did you see Daniel at all? I think he went out looking for you."
"Yea I saw him," I replied, shrugging my shoulders gently, "we spoke quickly then he left, not sure where."
"Okay," Corbyn said, disbelief played in his words but I didn't question it and he didn't push me for any more answers for the rest of the car ride.

A long 10 minutes later, Corbyn's car  pulled into the driveway of the house and was immediately greeted by Jonah, Jack and Zach. Zach's arms wrapped around my waist as he hugged me tightly.
"Are you okay? Hurt?" He frantically questioned.
"Yea I'm fine, a little hungover but fine," I replied quietly.
"You know we haven't forgotten about your little drinking episode right? You gonna tell us what that was about?" Jonah asked, more worried than scolding.

Before I had a chance to say anything, tears streamed down my cheeks angrily.
"She was always there for me and I never once visited her after moving here," I sobbed into my hands. The boys all frozen in place, surprised by this sudden outburst. Jack snapped back to reality and ran over to my side, putting his arms around me.
"Who are you talking about? Your mother?" Corbyn asked, taking me out of jacks arms and into his instead, this is only making me cry harder.

I fell to my knees, my stomach tightened and my hands clenched fistfuls of my hair. The pain of losing her was too much.
"I can't live without her," I whispered between sobs. Corbyn - now on one knee - kissed my forehead repeatedly.
"We're all here for you baby, she loved you so very much and would have wanted you to live your life to the absolute fullest. I know it's tough, but I also know you can get through this, especially with my love. I love you so much, more than anything. I forgive you for last night as well, before Daniel went looking for you he explained everything to me. I'm sorry I lashed out. It just hurt to see the love of my life with someone else but we'll get past this. I want to spend the rest of my life with you so please stay with me, don't leave," Corbyn said, tears running down his own cheeks now.

I allowed my eyes to meet his glazed, blue eyes. I stared deeply into them and began to drown in the ocean he kept inside them. My breathing slowed down and my hands released my hair.

It was going to be okay.

All our eyes turned to face the front door that had just been opened. Daniel stood there, out of breath, holding my clothes in one hand, and held complete rage in his eyes.
