I laid out the black and white blanket on the living room floor to do Sutton's first month picture. I placed the wreath that was decorated with pink roses and baby's breath over the number one and laid Sutton on the blanket.

I stood on the couch to get a good angle. I snapped several pictures before she decided she didn't like the idea anymore and began to cry. I scooped her back up and rocked her gently, singing My Wish, and it began to soothe her. I kissed her head and took her upstairs for a feeding and a nap.

When I had the chance, I texted Hunter the picture.

J: Baby girl is one month old. How is this happening so fast?

H: Adorable. Can I post on Instagram? I know I can't believe it.

J: Sure :-) will you be home for dinner?

H: Yes. Should be home by 6

I looked at the time and decided to try and get some for cooking while I had both hands free. Both my mom and Lynette were so sweet to prep freezer meals and slow cooker dishes for me, however I felt best breaking into those on the rougher days. I had the time and energy today to make some teriyaki salmon with vegetables and potatoes. With everything on the sheet pan, I slid it into the oven just as I heard Sutton crying over the monitor. I set a time for dinner and made my way upstairs.

"Sweet baby girl," I cooed, lifting her out of the crib and over to the change table, "hey, hey don't worry. I got you." I changed her and brought her down to the living room while we waited for Hunter.

Hunter and I enjoyed dinner on the couch, enjoying each other and Sutton's presence."How was work?"

Hunter smiled, saying that the album is being well received, "It looks like we will both be playing at the festival you mentioned the other night. Then there is a new project my team partnered with Disney actually..." Intrigued, Hunter explained that he would be doing surprise songs at weddings for the first dances.

"Shut up! How cute!?" I smiled, "So, when's all that?"

"In two weeks for ten days." Hunter wanted to figure out travel details for Sutton.

"We have her check up on Tuesday. Let's ask the doctors and go from there." We nodded and in added it to my list of things to talk to the doctor about. I was excited to be getting back to our lives with our new family member.
