Between the Sun and the Stars

Sutton got the all clear from the doctor to go to Florida, and both of us were so excited. "First family trip and mama is gonna over pack." 

"We are gonna be on the resort Jen, if we forget anything, we can buy it there." Hunter placed his hands on my hips while reading my packing list over my shoulder. "Also, I got was told that there are like seven weddings over this trip. A few are doubled up on the same day."

"That's alright," I put my list down and turned to face Hunter. I placed my hands on his cheeks and kissed him. "In case I forget to say it, thank you for making me a mom. I love you."

"Thank you for giving me the privilege of being a dad. I am so over the moon." I kissed his lips gently. "How's everything with you? How are you feeling?"

"Well I feel good emotionally. My body feels like its not mine. I'm obviously a little pudgy," I put my hand on my tummy, "my boobs hurt a bit, but I was going to get back into the yoga and maybe find a trainer to help me shape up."

"Don't be hard on yourself sweetie, your body just gave us such an incredible gift. It's okay of it takes time for things to feel comfortable again." He wrapped me up in a hug, "I love you." We were interrupted my Sutton's cry, I pulled away and Hunter stopped me, "I got this one." This man, he's amazing.

The next day we were packed up onto the tour bus for the day long drive to Disney Magic Kingdom in Florida. We opted to drive instead of flying with Sutton since she was so young. Hunter had the bus outfitted with a crib for her, and we stocked up on diapers, soothers and the essentials. Hunter and I took turns with Sutton, and part way through the afternoon we found ourselves on the bed with her, Hunter had a guitar in hand, singing and playing while I burped her. "This is an exciting first family vacation. Thank you for having us come with you."

"I am so glad I get to share this with you Jenna." It was really comfortable being on the bus, even if the trek was three times as long as flying. We arrived at the Magic Kingdom resort and met up with the guys for dinner. Something about Hunter carrying Sutton in her carrier was pretty hot. He made such a good daddy. 

"She has grown so much," Sam exclaimed, "and look at that hair." Sutton had an abundance of brown hair atop her little head.

"She's definitely got my hair," I laughed, looking over the menu, "we will have to see whose eyes she gets. Its amazing how much she's grown and changed in just six weeks." The guys nodded, totally melting over her. We had dinner and I had to excuse myself once to change her but otherwise she was perfect company. We enjoyed the evening out, but tomorrow was a work day for Hunter. We made our way to the hotel room and got comfortable. Hunter showered and I sat on the bed feeding Sutton, half singing to her, half just talking.

"You have it good my sweet little girl. We love you so much. Your daddy is such a good man, I'm so lucky to have him. He takes such good care of us, he's so strong and handsome. I'm so happy to be your mommy.  We will bring you back to Florida when you're a big girl." 

I hears a sniffle in the doorway, "Hunt?" I looked to see his eyes welled, but he was smiling.

"Maybe my pregnancy hormones are out of whack," he laughed, a towel tied around his waist, "its amazing how she is just so calm, especially when you sing to her." Hunter fished through his suitcase for some PJ bottoms.

"Well, she's the only person who knows what its like to hear my heartbeat, my voice and singing from the inside." Hunter nodded. He opened his hands to take Sutton over while I showered. I kissed them both and took some time for myself in the shower. 

The ten days that followed were incredibly fun, yet relaxing. Hunter and I explored the Magic Kingdom on one of his off days, enjoyed dinners with the guys and Hunter sang at seven weddings. Most of the song requests were Wanted, or Still Fallin'. Once again, we were on the bus, heading home. I sent my parents and Hunter's pictures of us with Sutton in front of the magic castle, along with a few others. 

We pulled up to the studio and unloaded the bus, loaded up the escape and headed home. "Our first family trip is in the books," I squeezed Hunter's hand, "that was a great time. Thank you."

"I'm so glad you were both able to to join me."
