It had been two weeks since I last saw Damon. It shouldn't bother me but it really did. Surprisingly he didn't contact me and I didn't contact him. I am never one to contact him. I just wanted to make sure he was okay, and nothing I said had bothered him. He was disorientated when he left my room that night. I sat at Tiffany's Cafe with Caroline and Bonnie while thinking about him.

"Where's your head at?" Caroline asked while biting into her pastry.

"Hm?" I met eyes with her and quickly shook my head, "nowhere. Just zoned out."

"Usually when you zone out, you're thinking about something deeply." She said while raising her eyebrows.

"Xavier perhaps?" Bonnie asked with a nudge.

"No." I wish though. "Speaking of boys, how's yours?" I wanted to change the subject.

"Great. He came over last night. My whole entire family was downstairs and of course, things got heated. We had to have silent sex." She giggled.

"Oh jeez. That's a skill." Bonnie high-fived Caroline.

I smiled at her and said nothing else. I simply just sipped on my coffee. To get some closure, I decided right then and there that I would text him. I grabbed my phone and began typing.

TEXT: ~are you okay?~ 02/28/2018 8:00am

I waited a couple minutes and didn't get anything back. I don't know why I expected an immediate response, but it got me frustrated that I didn't get one. Part of me always thought his whole world revolves around my company. Guess not.

TEXT: ~Damon. Answer.~ 02/28/2018 8:05am

~helllloooo?~ 02/28/2018 8:06am

~Now you decide to not get back to me? Just text me please.~ 02/28/2018 8:07am

I set down my phone after I sent out the texts, and decided to place myself into the conversation that was going on between Caroline and Bonnie. I didn't say much because I wasn't really listening closely. My eyes were set upon the people walking outside the café. They were so light on their feet, and the rush of people on the sidewalks was consistent. I squinted my eyes against the sunlight that seemed through the glass and found myself noticing the diversity of colors in people's clothing. They were so bright and luminous, as if life was absorbed by them. I smiled at the sight and ended up noticing a dark color that didn't belong. Black. It was a jacket made out of reflecting leather, matching it's owner's hair. It wasn't hard to miss since it stood out so much. Right then, it dawned on me that it could've been him. It was him. I didn't catch a face but it's hard to miss someone so recognizable. He was only getting further.

"Uhm.. I'll be right back I think I see someone I know." I explain myself quickly before leaving Caroline and Bonnie. They might be baffled but I could always give them the full scoop later. I grabbed my phone, but left my purse at the table and hurried out of the café. The minute I stepped foot out of the café, I had lost track of him. There were too many heads to look over. I had a better perspective at the table. I started walking in the direction that I saw him heading. I couldn't even explain to myself why I was following him. Ironic how I was the one that told him to leave me alone, and now I won't let him leave me alone. In hope of maybe getting a text, I looked down at my phone. There was nothing from him. I sigh and bop my head through doors to skim through crowds of people. Surely, he was nowhere in sight. After a while I had given up. It was stupid to chase someone who disappears randomly on a regular basis. I began heading back to the café, practicing what I would tell my friends. My hunt was unsuccessful and uneventful. I'll also have to explain myself to Bonnie who had been out of the loop longer than Caroline had.
