Ghosts of The Past
“Prep your gear, we are dropping in to a really dangerous area. This area is armed with mercenaries, and a top of the line security system, thats where Ark comes in. He’s going to crack the system for enough time for us to get in, after that we are to capture the target alive, if he dies, this mission is a bust, and we don’t get paid. This is a high risk operation, and chances are we may fail, but thats why they called us in. We are Delta Team. We are the best. We won’t fail. We. Will. Finish this!” I briefed my team.
“Coms check”
“1!”
“2!”
“3!”
“4. lets move.”
We attached ourselves to the rappels, and fed it through our belt clips. Now if we get disconnected, the belt would stop our fall for a few seconds to let us get to safety. “Ark, set sword power to 5%, we are ordered not to kill, but we are allowed to knock him unconscious, and the mercs would get suspicious if we left blood trails behind. Enable phase locks, and disable safety protocol one through five, and set coat hardness to 150% across all of us, this is going to get dicey.” I ordered Ark. I questioned the sanity of this mission when I saw what was about to become.
We were still 30 feet above our mark, and if we mess up here, we might as well start praying, because its a long way down. “Small patrol group headed through, get into the darkness to hide.” Said Ark. We moved into the darkness to avoid being spotted, and Scarlet whispered into the com “They’re talking about something, can we have Ark patch us into the system to hear what they’re saying?” “Way ahead of you there.” I responded.
“Did you guys hear? The package at the plant was delivered without a hitch.” Said patrol solder one. “Really now? We better hope, it works, otherwise, we might as well kiss our lives goodbye.” Replied solder number two. “It’ll work. We don’t want the boss to kill us. I’d rather the package did, I don’t want to end up like Ranger squad. Those poor bastards, didn’t even get to say goodbye before the boss got ahold of them.” “I Should probably tell my family to get away from the plant as soon as possible. Come oh 600 hours, half of Clear Water will become ground zero.” “Are you stupid! Someone….”
The solder didn’t even finish before Scarlet took the 4 guards out. “We have to finish this mission, FAST!.” She exlaimed into the com. “I agree with you on that, but next time, please cut into the glass, not shatter the window.” said Clark. “Isaac, the mark moved towards the vault. I think he’s on to us. We need to get him fast.” Said Ark. “I don’t think they’re on to us… more like, they’re right on top of us.” I replied. “Just great, now we’re gonna get docked pay. Ark, initiate Alpha protocol, and launch the red flare outside the plant, we just walked into the lions den.”
“MASKS ON DELTA! We can’t let them know who we are! Weapons free, and Scarlet, tone back the battle lust. I can feel it from here, and you are starting to scare Bravo on the ground.” I barked into the coms. This was about to get interesting.
I drew both my katanas, and heard the low pitched buzz of the phase lock, and it’s sharpness being cut down. “It’s a miracle you haven’t tried to go above 10% sharpness.” remarked Arc. “You and I both know, if I even went above 7% a few swipes would cut through this building like warm butter. 5% is where I can go all out, and prevent myself from killing anyone because of the phase lock.” I replied.
“Delta protocol removes all my locks on the swords allowing me to go at 100% at a large cost. Rush Ridge is the only time I’ve ever used it, and I damn near leveled the entire ridge. In only one swipe, I vaporised the entire enemy group, and nearly turned the ridge into a plateau. I wouldn’t even dare try to do it in the city, I would kill every single person that stood in front of my swords, and level the city. I know that it’s extremely powerful, and I would never let these swords leave my side, because in the wrong hands, it could take on an entire nation’s army.” “Ark, this is why I never go above 10% unless it’s absolutely necessary, you would run rampant, and repeat Rush Ridge everytime you could.” I said. “Now that I finished my monologue of redundancy, lets get to work”
