No matter how much I persuaded Cillian, he wouldn't tell me the name of the buyer, which was important for me if I was to decide to give the diamond or not.

There was nothing special about anything in the treasury, except that it was valuable and shiny. Artifacts from when the pack used to engage in foundational magic before borders were instated were stored there. To be fair, there were probably quite a few powerful items in the treasury, except the knowledge to use them had faded over time.

Romina was one of the few- if not the only- persons who were capable of using it. With the evolution of peace between the packs, the need for the use of destructive magic had diminished. I wasn't just going to hand it over to Cillian.

Nevertheless, I dismissed these thoughts as I was wheeled back to my white room. The Nurse stood there, with her arms crossed.

"What did he ask you?" She questioned, her blue eyes shining with curiosity. Surprised that she was talking to me, I shook my head.

"He didn't ask me anything."  I smirk at her, watching as an annoyed expression takes over her soft features. I could tell she wanted information, and that she liked him.

She nods at me with a dirty expression and walks out of the room, leaving me alone with my thoughts. I couldn't deny that I needed this time to think this through.

My pack is not in danger, the first thing popped up into my head. That was one place to start.

Seth cares? Not likely. It's just a ploy to get me to lower my guard.

Cillian said that I should get out today, after a few hours. Although I'm glad, I have no intention of handing over that diamond unless I know there's nothing special about it.

But my thoughts keep getting jumbled. All this seems to be happening too fast. There's a link I'm missing. Cillian isn't speaking the truth, but I have no option to believe him because he is my ticket out of here.

I sigh, and get dressed.

Nights here are cold, and dreary. Even the lights in the room start flickering weakly before going still for moments.

Moments, that are fleeting- just like the ones where I fell into this chasm. It is clear that Seth knew about this place but chose not to act. Something down here must have frightened him.

The door creaks by the side, and I look over my shoulder to see the same nurse. This time, however, she has dried tears on her cheeks.

Today she is wearing a name tag, presumably because she was serving food to patients today. I squint and try to make out the words on the metal plate on her white uniform.

Lise.

Peculiar name.

"Why are you crying?" I ask curiously. I'm not even close to being sympathetic, but I was just naturally inclined to the unknown.

She sniffs, but she doesn't look at me. Instead, she comes closer and works on my bands.

She finally mumbles, "Perhaps when you get out there, you'll know. You'll know the pain of a mate who broke your heart."

I look at her in shock, too dumbfounded to do anything. She moves out of the room without a word, leaving the door open.

The monster of a doctor arrives a moment later, smiling a thousand watt smile. It's eerie, and dangerous, which makes me slightly nervous.

"After you." He quietly says, motioning outwards with his hand.

I get up and narrow my eyes at him, moving far ahead from his position, remembering Cillian's words.

You'll get out of here.

It's pitch back outside, with nothing visible, nothing heard. A door at the end of the hallway is open, with two figures that I cannot clearly see. On approaching the door, I notice it's actually Cillian and another person who looks just like him, save for the stormy grey eyes.

Brothers?

I can see Cillian is dressed in a simple pair of jeans and a blue T-shirt, but his mind looks distracted. His eyes are stormy and dark, and they reflect the conflict inside his mind.

The other person looks smug, with a smirk on his face and an aura of arrogance all over him.

"This is her?" The unknown man questions harshly. I resist the urge to go and slap him across his face, but I calm myself down and keep quiet.

"Yes." Cillian replies curtly and continues, "He's coming to pick her up."

I don't know who's coming to pick me up, so I look at Cillian subtly. He shakes his head once and turns his head to the unknown man.

"Get out of here, Morrell. It's not safe." Cillian mumbles.

"Then why are you keeping your mate here?" Morrell questions slyly, a smirk breaking out on his face.

Cillian looks ready to burst into flames by now, and I watch with wide eyes what is an obvious fight between brothers.

"I'm not keeping my mate here. She has no choice." He says gruffly.

Morrell gives out a throaty chuckle, and shifts his eyes to me.

"Just like she has no choice but to be here?"

I clench my fists tightly, not wanting to lose control and potentially risk my freedom. I'm aware of how threatening I must look right now- dark circles under my eyes, and a white hospital gown and scars all over my body. My neck has fully healed although I have a battle scar that stretches from my upper neck to my collar.

Fortunately for him, Morrell backs off.

He nods at Cillian and winks at me once before turning around and walking out of the door. Surprisingly, Cillian is fully calm now, and I can also see him smile slightly at me.

"Who's coming to pick me up?" I question him after a comfortable silence.

He smiles warmly at me, but I can tell he's afraid of my reaction.

"You'll see pretty soon. I'd say it will be a pleasant surprise after what's happened so-"

The Door opens, cutting off Cillian in the middle of his explanation.

Both of our heads snap to the person who walked in.

As I examine this person's appearance, my heart skips a beat. I analyse the blonde hair so similar to mine, the nose, the curl of the ears, the green eyes. I see faded freckles which are the result of all the time spent on the surface. I see strong arms, and tall legs, which support a lean frame of someone who I have not seen for years.

My eyes shift back to concentrate on his face. He is expressionless but his face breaks out into a mischievous, guilty smile once he sees me. This fool. All this has been for him. And he smiles at me sheepishly?

"Godric."
