"Make sure Halo gets to bed by 8:30, even though she'll try to manipulate you to letting her sleep later, okay?" I ask Aislin who's laughing at Noel as he tries to shoot the basketball in the hoop.

"Yes, Ange, I heard you.  Just go.  I got them under control," she pats my arm.  I give her a long, fixated look.  I don't want her to try anything.

"You have to be stern with them.  Speak firmly, assertively.  You can't let them run over—"

"Relax, baby," Aviana runs her hand down my arm. "Ais got this in the bag.  And this is the only time we can escape.  So let's hurry up before they come running after us."

I sigh. I put my hands up in defeat. I step back only to step on a small car. I shake my head.

"Good luck, Ais," Aviana cooed, an evil smile on her face. Aislin nods, rolls her eyes, and points to the door.  I intertwine my hands with Avi's, and we head out the door. I know I'm driving when she gets in the passenger seat, her sunglasses low on her nose.

I narrow my eyes at her, saying 'really?' expression.

She shrugs. "I'll drive on the way back," and then turns the radio on. Drake and Lil Baby blasts through the speakers. She turns it down slightly, as I back out the driveway. She's now bobbin her head to the beat, and my favorite part comes on.

"Brand new whip got no keys, tailor my clothes no starch please."

She joins in. "Soon as I nut you gon leave, got Ms in the bank like yes indeed."

We end up laughing continuing to listen to the rest of the song. I lay my hand down so we can intertwine our hands once again. She does so, and we grow into a comfortable silence. I hope she enjoys today because my babymomma works very hard for me and our children, and I just want her to feel appreciated.

Fifteen minutes later, I open the door to the bowling center for Aviana.  Her face breaks into an ear splitting grin.  She sucks on her lower lip and wraps her arm around my waist when we move to the side.

"Thank youuu," her hazel eyes gleam under the fluorescent lights.  I roll my eyes pretending to look annoyed.  Aviana has begged me to go bowling.   It was out of nowhere when she and I were laying on the couch the other day.  How could I say no when she literally followed me around the house begging, or wrapping herself around my leg like our children did.

"Silly Mommy," Halo would always say when she saw her mother on me.

"I will literally trash you when it comes to bowling. Don't cry on me, okay?" I say and then peck her lips.  Her mouth falls open and one of her brows rise up in question.  She cocks her head to one of the aisle.

"You're going to eat everything you just said," she mutters and walks in front of me, her hips swishing left and right.

Let the game begin!
*·*·*·*·*·*·*·*
Aviana's winning.

Only by one point.  I can win this.

I will win this.

It's my turn, so I grab my ten pound ball and stand in front of the aisle.  The pins are sitting together, staring back at me.  It's like they're taunting me to lose.  Ugh.

I swing my arm back, and bend down, ready to throw the ball.  Right when I'm about to I feel arms circle around my waist and a head on my back.  I glance back and Aviana's staring back at me with a haunting smirk.

"You can't be doing this," I mumble to her and shake my body to get her to move.

"Are you shook?" she says softly as her hand roams over my covered abs.  I groan knowing exactly what she's doing to me.

"You're dirty."

She giggles and kisses my back.  "Make your shot, babe."

I sigh and roll my ball.  It bolts down the aisle, it's speed slowing down.  Then like an invisible force moved it, it slides down to the side.  Aviana cackles behind me and pats my back.

"Fuckkk," I hiss under my breath.  She laughs more and whips her curls behind her shoulder.  The music and her victory has her dancing, her yellow sundress curling around her legs.

"Loserrrr!" she makes an L shape with her hand and sticks out her tongue.  I try not to laugh and frown with my lips curling at the bottom too.

"It's your fault!" I point at her like a madman.  Her eyes widen when she realizes I'm chasing after her.  She breaks into a sprint while I follow her around the bowling aisle.  She runs to the arcade which is a room filled with people.  She bumps into a dark skinned man who grabs her by the waist.  Aviana looks at him, an apologetic expression all over her face.  My playful demeanor is ruined and I feel my protective switch turn on.

"Dayum, you must be a cake because I want a piece of this," the guy's hungry gaze at Aviana is from her head to toe.  She moves back trying not to smile at his cheesy pick up line.  I wake up behind her, and put my arms around her waist.

"I'm sorry, what did you say to my wife?" I eye the guy.  He scoffs, his smile faltering.

"Nothin' man.  She's just a traitor to her race," he looks at Aviana again but his time disgust all over his face. "Marrying her ancestor's slave master's descendant."

That's when I push Aviana behind me and land a jaw breaking punch to the douche's face.  He stumbles back and touches his jaw.  Blood gushes from his nose and slides down into his mouth.  People gasp, and forms a circle around us.  Aviana tugs at my arm trying to push me back.  I make her let me go.

"Say it again," I taunt looking down at the guy. I'm blazing with fury. "And I will break your face... not just your jaw."

"Angel. Jay. Meyers." Aviana breaks down my name.  She grabs me by my ear, and drags me out the bowling center.  We're outside, the sun already had sunken and the moon is now shining.  She crosses her arms in front of her, her face scrunched up in anger.  But then she smiles.

"Thank you."

I don't smile.  I only pull her to my chest and hold her tightly.  She wraps her arms around my neck.  And her head lays on my collarbone.  I kiss her ear, behind it and then her neck.

"I love you.  I love you so much."

Her hands tangle in my hair.  She moves back to look at me. "I know."

"He... what he said was absolutely disturbing. That's why I had to pop him.  And he disrespected both you and me.  But you? He got what he deserved."

Aviana grabs my face and connects are lips.  "He was jealous because I'm not his. I'm yours. So let's not waste our time on him."

I pull away to put my forehead against hers.  She's right.  Our hands intertwined has me smiling now.  I'm pretty damn lucky.

I'm about to go in for another kiss when my phone rings.  I fish it out my pocket to see that it's Aislin.

"What'd they do?" I begin.

Silence. "Noel fell down the stairs... and his arm is broken."

Aviana sees the shock and distraught on my face and grabs my phone.  Aislin tells her what she told me, and now we're rushing to the car.

"Momma! Momma!" we hear Noel's shrieking voice over the other end when Aviana puts it on speaker.  Tears fall down Aviana's face.

"Baby," I grab her hand but she snatches it away.

"Aislin better hope my child doesn't need surgery," she growls and starts the car.

Oh lord.
