The world was spinning. Everything around me was the wrong colour. And the voices... there were voices saying... water? Yes, water. Suddenly there was a waterfall in front of me, looking so cool, so refreshing. And through the waterfall were more of the voices. They were singing.

"Perrrr-cyyyy".

"Perrrr-cyyyy".

"Come here, Percy, we need you!"

I had to help those voices. They needed me. They needed my help.

I went to walk through the waterfall, but instead of staying dry, I was soaked. I came out the other side looking similar to a drowned cat. Not a good look.

I followed the sound of the Voices on and on a track that led through trees. They continued to call me, each call sounding more and more urgent. When I reached a clearing, I saw the singers in their glory. They were beautiful, the most gorgeous creatures I have ever seen. Their eyes were like kaleidoscopes, and their hair shimmered with multiple colours, so you could never be sure exactly how they looked. They beckoned to me, still singing my name.

I wanted to run to them and bury my face in their hair and just stay there with them, content forever.

But something held me back. A memory. A flashback. Of a girl... with blonde hair and grey eyes. I felt a tug in the small of my back, where my weak spot used to be from the time I took a dip in the river Styx. A cord was connected to that point, and the girl was tugging on it, laughing. "That's your lifeline, dummy", she told me.

I opened my eyes again, and I was back in the clearing. The singers were calling me again, beckoning more insistently than before.

"Perrr-cyyy".

I wanted to go to them, but there was a weak tug in my back, stopping me from moving forward.

Then one of the singers came forwards to me. She seemed to be the youngest, though she looked 17 years old, my age. She rubbed my back at the point where I felt the tug, and immediately the feeling holding me back left. She took my hand and we walked over to the others. Their song was slightly different now.

"Perrr-cyyy", sang one.

"So glad you could join us", chorused two more.

"We really need you", called another.

"You have to save us", cried the last one.

"What?" I asked. "What do I have to save you from?"

The young girl smiled faintly. "From your old world", she whispered melodiously, still not letting go of my hand.

"How?" I asked. They were breaking my heart. I had to help them, at all and any costs.

She smiled. "Join us, Percy. We need a male from your old world to stay alive, or we will fade, and go to the dark place. The place where you once suffered."

"How do I help?" I asked, desperate to help these poor girls.

They all smiled. They looked gorgeous...

"You must... oh, never mind, you shan't want to", said the young one, looking sad.

"No, I'll help, I'll do anything!" I told her. "Just tell me how".

She grinned, showing her pearly white teeth. "Marry me", she whispered. "Marry me and be mine..."
