Fine you guys, I won't have a great chapter where Percy finds an epic way out. It will not be as thrilling as I could have been if you had commented. So if you don't like this chapter, it is all your fault. :P

I was stuck in a void of confusion.

My brain was caught inside a net full of delusions.

Should I go with the girl? Should I not? What would happen if I did? What would happen if I didn't?

I caught the girl's eye. "I will answer your question if you answer all of mine", I compromised.

She looked upset, and pouted. "But why?"

I rolled my eyes. I must admit, she was cute when she pouted. "Because I cannot marry a girl who I know nothing about", I replied airily. "But if you don't wish to answer my questions, my answer will definitely be no."

Her eyes widened. "I will answer your questions".

"Okay. Firstly, have you ever met another man?"

She shook her head dejectedly.

"Okay... secondly, do you only want marriage because you wish to be freed from the curse?"

She stopped dead in her tracks. She nodded.

I didn't know how to react with this. If I said no, she would be cursed forever. But if I said yes, she would be free, but I would be miserable. "Let me think this through for a minute", I requested.

She nodded.

I thought it over. I mean, I really thought it over. Emotional and mental conflict. I mean, it was Calypso all over again. When I thought of Calypso, I realized I could never help her if I was trapped in this reality.

I turned back to the girl. "I'm really sorry, but my answer is no."

She nodded, tears in her eyes, and turned to her family, full of sorrow. She seemed to be whispering to them.

Suddenly, they turned around. I stumbled back in shock, because their eyes were blood red.

"Percy Jackson, for that answer, you shall die", they hissed in harmony.

I reached into my pocket for my sword, only to find it wasn't there.

I cursed softly, "Styx".

I tried to summon my good memories, but there were so few. I concentrated, and summoned my favourite memory, the one that I believed would help me out of this illusion. My favourite memory.

Annabeth.
