"There's been recent Hydra activity in Brooklyn. Luckily we've caught wind as they've been keeping it low-key lately and our men have been able to get the evidence." a tall man wearing a black coat explained. He is a man of dark skin and wears an eyepatch over his right eye. On the screen behind him are pictures of men wearing black loading crates into a truck.
They moved suspiciously. Looking around with concealed weapons as they moved the crates from a warehouse.
"They've been spotted moving some heavy tech from this location. Where they're going? We don't know. What they're making? We don't know. And I god damn would like to know."
"Why Brooklyn?" an agent asked, sitting at the conference table. A middle-aged man with a kind face and a balding head of grey hair.
Nick Fury shrugged. "Wouldn't I like to know?" then he clicked on the computer in front of him and the slides changed. On the screen appeared a report file and images of a white-haired goddess who landed herself on Midgard over two years ago. "I believe she is best suited for this task."
Agent Coulson motioned a confused hand. "Isn't she living peacefully in Norway?"
A woman who sat next to Coulson, then said, "She's been M.I.A for a while now. She had only done under 15 missions for us when she first landed on the planet. Then decided to live out in Norway. So why her, boss?"
"According to some deep research and past records." Nick Fury flicked to the next slide. An old dirty WW2 photo came to the screen. A battalion of soldiers and to the side is a group of nurses. One of them is the goddess Sigyn. "She's been here before!" he pointed to her in the photo. "We don't know why. Or how long she's been alive for, but for some goddamn reason she's there! And she's familiar with Brooklyn."
"Astonishing." said Agent Coulson. "Who is that? She has her hand on him?" he gestured to the young boy sitting on a box beneath the goddess.
Nick Fury shrugged. "File records tell us he was employed in this battalion. Vali Lokison, he went by."
"Who is he to her?"
"Does it look like I know?"
"So two gods have fought in our wars?" he sounded confused.
"Who knows? Since being enlightened to their presence, maybe all our wars were funded by the gods?" Nick added a drop of sarcasm to his sentence.
"Where do we find her?" Maria Hill asked.
"I was hoping you'd know the answer to that." replied Nick Fury. "It seems of late, I know nothin."
"So, we find her, bring her in. Then what?"
"We'll start with finding her. It can be a hard task to find a god who doesn't want to be found which is why I am entrusting you two to this task."
"I have contacts with Jane Foster, maybe she'll know." suggested Coulson.
"Why don't we just send our own guys out?" Maria Hill said.
"Because they have failed in the past. Because she is a god who can handle whatever high-tech weaponry Hydra will throw at us. She's proven that in the past."
"A lesser god... according to record."
Nick Fury raised a brow.
"She's only ever been mentioned twice in the Nordic stories of the Poetic Edda. Lesser means less powerful."
"I don't give a flying fuck. Still more powerful than a normal human. Unless we had access to Thor or some-shit, we don't have a choice. Find her."
