Gnarly yellow teeth snarled at her. Blood-hungry blue eyes. The mouth of the wolf snarled inching closer. Its tongue licking its hungry snout. It looked at her like a platter of meat offered at a feast. She had no voice here, her words were not wanted. The wolf would not hear her pleas.
Then it snapped at her.
Sigyn's body jolts and all she can see is darkness behind her eyes. She is somewhere loud. The whining of the machine around her slows down. Her heart was pumping inside her chest and she felt so uneasy. She remembers where she is. The princess opened her eyes and she was in a bed. But the mechanism above her is spinning to a stop before the bed begins to pull itself out of the machine.
"How do you feel?" a voice approached, once the machine stopped.
"I have told you. I am fine." she said, again.
A Midgardian doctor stood over the princess and he removed the equipment from her body and allowed her to sit upright. "My readings tell me otherwise." he informed.
"Good or bad?"
He looked at her. "There is a lot of unusual activity in your brain."
"I have the best healers in Asgard. If I feel the need I will see them." she replied. The doctors fawned over the princess for days, running all tests, and checks on her. All to make sure she is okay. They let her leave the MRI room and sit in a separate waiting room. She sighed. She is okay. Her body is okay. And her mind... well.
The door to the room opened, and Tony Stark entered quietly. He sat a seat over from the goddess. "You know," he began. "I'm an atheist." this earned him a look. "I don't believe in any gods or higher deities." The white goddess nodded at this. "Never have. I am a man of science. Science is always right." he turned his body slightly towards her. "Yet, here you sit. How?"
"On a chair." is her reply.
Tony laughed. "You're funny! I like that. That's good."
Then there was silence.
Sigyn looked at this man and he was looking at the far wall. "What is it you came here for? To tell me now you believe in the gods?"
"The doctors here are just trying to do their job." he informed her. "We just want to make sure that everything about you is okay."
"I am fine."
"Yes. You've said. Your body is okay. But what about your mind? It can be a very complex thing."
"It can." she said. She looked at the same wall he did a moment ago. "They tried to hurt my mind. Erase memories important to me. Destroy who I was. Who I am. Even the bad memories I wish I could erase. But without them."
"We wouldn't be who we are." he completed and then smiled. This earned a small smile from the tough goddess. He felt pleased with himself. She is always so calm and quiet. "And here you are now. A fallen angel on Earth." Tony Stark reached into his pocket and revealed a packet of something. "Chocolate cookies." he offered. "You'll like them."
Tony Stark ripped open the packet and held it out for the princess. She looked at him and then at the contents of the inside. She picked out a small cookie. She brought it to her nose and smelt it. It smelt of doe. Then she took a small bite.
It crumbled in her mouth and tasted amazing. "This is nice." she ate the rest.
"See," said Tony. "We're getting somewhere."
"Why are you really here, Tony Stark?" she questioned.
He shrugged. "You're interesting." he spoke as if it wasn't. "All this time, all the different stories about gods and religion and no proof at all. And then suddenly, I am called to rescue you. Sure, I don't believe it. Then I met you. I've seen you do things. Conjuring things from nothing."
