"Im hungry" Jai changed the subject. "So am I" I agreed, looking around the room. "We just ate" James spoke softly. I looked directly at Jai "Come on then" I said, putting my sunglasses on. "Where are we going?" Jai asked, confused. "To get something to eat" I smiled. Jai nodded and put his shoes on. "Are you sure none of you are hungry?" I asked. They all mumbled positive responses so I said bye and made my way out.
"Where do you want to eat?" I asked Jai as we walked down the warm streets of Glenroy. "Macca's?" He suggested. I laughed and nodded my head. "You look nice today" Jai said, looking at me. "Thank you" I blushed. Why cant Luke and Jai swap personalities? Jai treats girls perfectly and Luke treats them like toys.
We reached Macca's and it was surprisingly not that busy. We made our way to the back of the que and waited patiently. I realised some girls staring at me from the table across from where we was stood. I stared at them and raised my eyebrows, suggesting to them that they should stop staring, but instead one of them stood up and walked to us. I folded my arms and sighed deeply, what does she want? She looked a lot smaller than me and Jai, maybe a few years below us in school. "Hey Hope" Her sweet voice rang through my ears. "mmm?" I mumbled, smiling. "Are you and Luke dating?" She asked, politely. I looked at Jai who had a smile on his face, he looked like he was trying to bite back laughter. "No, she isn't dating Luke" Jai answered for me, noticing that the girl was starting to get impatient and our place in the que was shortening. She just nodded and made her way back to her seat. "What was all that about?" I muttered, turning back around to face the counter. "You know just as much as me" Jai laughed, as we ordered.
"Thankyou" I smiled at Jai, taking a drink of my Coke. Jai paid for the food, I told him that It was a treat from me but he ignored me. "Well fancy seeing you hear?" A familiar voice spoke from behind me. I looked at Jai and rolled my eyes, making him smirk. Luke. "Luke, no offense but can you leave. I don't want people to think we're dating" I quoted him. "What?" Jai laughed, obviously not catching on. "Luke said earlier that I couldn't hang with him because people would think we're dating" I explained, whilst eating my fries.
"Hope, calm down. I just came to say hi" Luke shot back, sitting on the table next to mine and Jai's. "Luke, go away" Jai moaned, loud enough for Luke to get the picture that we didn't want him here. I smiled at Jai, who shot a quick smile back. "Hey" I heard another person say from behind us. "Why is everyone here?" Jai said, putting his head in his hands. I laughed at his stressful mood and turned around to be greeted by Beau. "Beau" I shouted, standing up and giving him a quick hug. "Jai, you need to come home. Sorry to interrupt" Beau panted, he had obviously rushed here. "Why?" Jai asked, flinging his arms in the air and standing up. "Daniel broke your laptop" Beau laughed. Daniel broke Jai's laptop? I didn't want to ask. "Its okay, you can go" I smiled politely at Jai who nodded gratefully and rushed of with Beau after saying bye. I stood up. "Hey Hope, where are you going?" Luke asked, grabbing my arm. "Home" I snapped, pushing his hand of me and walking away. "Hope, im sorry" He shouted. I stopped and turned around so I was facing him. Luke Brooks, saying sorry? "At least let me walk you home" He reasoned, walking over to me. I nodded and gulped. I didn't say anything.
"So are you and Jai close friends?" Luke asked as we made our way back onto the darkening streets. "Yeah, kinda" I smiled, finally breaking the awkward silence from my half. "You look nice by the way" Luke complimented me. I faced the floor as I blushed. "So, who was that girl earlier?" I coughed, not trying to sound like I was too bothered. "Just a friend, nothing happened" "I wouldn't mind if it did, your not my boyfriend" I explained, clearly. "I know that" he smirked. "Why do you always do that?" I moaned, changing the subject. "Do what?" "Smirk at me" I giggled. "Its a habit" He stated, making me smile. I like it when we can have an actual conversation without arguing or disagreeing over anything or anyone.
