Lawrence
Waking up to my phone ringing made me annoyed right away. It making me roll away from Melanie's warm inviting body to my phone on the nightstand, reading three in the morning with Nickolai's number coming up on the screen and answered. Not caring to hide my displeasure in my tone.
"This better be good." I said huskily from sleep, whipping my eyes as I laid back down on my pillow.
"You need to come down to the warehouse, Severus is here as well." He replied simply as I shot up right in bed, wonder what they were doing together and how Nickolai was here. But didn't ask wanting to see this for myself.
"I will be there in fifteen." Hang up the phone as Melanie rolled towards me with a content sigh as her lips parted breathing softly. I leaned towards her giving her a kiss on the cheek. Gently moving off the bed not to wake her onto the carpet floor. I throw on clothes from the closet and walked out the door with a sleepy Ace at the front of the house waiting.
"He called you too?" I asked grabbing my jacket and walking out into the hall.
"Ya just after he called you, what's going on?" He asked yawning with a confused expression.
"I believe it is about Archer and what he had said. So let's hurry and get back before Melanie wakes up." I commanded as we walked to the elevator to the garage. Pick my viper sense I was going to be driving as Ace slid into the passenger seat. Flooring it out of the garage and onto the still streets.
As I said fifteen minutes later we were at the warehouse, dressed all in suits with several bodyguards surrounding us ready for anything. I looked to the tall shaggy blond Nickolai, stockier than ever, with a grin as we gave each other a hug with a pat on the shoulder. For some reason Archer and him didn't share any similarities' with his nice tan skin versus dark and thankfully never got into tattoo's. We looked at each other up and down, then back to his dark chocolate eyes with a smirk.
"I see you have put on a lot more muscle sense the last time I saw you." I said sarcastically.
"Just trying to beat you for once. It's been a long time old man." He replied with a grin.
"Who are you calling old, we're not that far apart in age and I think you finally have won on strength." I said squeezing his shoulder tightly, knowing with his new found muscle it wouldn't hurt him in the slightest.
"Boy's, we're here for a reason. Remember." Severus said with a smile, chuckling at us. Coming up and raising his hand to me.
"Severus... It nice to see you, how are you feeling." I asked genuinely, as I shook hands with the real old man in his early sixties, with thinning shoulder length white silver hair and gold eyes still sharp as a knife untouched by age. Youthful pale skin and sharp features of a man of wisdom not to cross, standing shorter than Nickolai and I at 5'11.
"Good, unlike that son of mine. I heard you had a scuff with him the day I came in." He noted curiously knowing our history. One that even sense we had first meet never got alone.
"Nothing that would cause anything from it." I reassured him not wanting confutation from nothing.
"And the women of yours, I take it the Doc has discussed with you on what we talked about." He smiled all knowingly reading my thoughts.
"Yes, it leads me to the question of why Nickolai is here. No offence." I stated jokingly as I turned to him with a grin.
"None taken." He replied putting his hands up in surrender then stuffing them in his pants pockets lazily.
"So why are we here at this ungodly hour." I asked as they stood next to each other with huge grins.
"I am to be Melanie's bodyguard starting tomorrow, in New York." Nickolai declared smoothly looking to Ace then to me.
