Lawrence
"So Lawrence are you satisfied with your present?" Uncle asked as he put away some of the papers he was working on in the desk. Ignore my statement not surprised in the least with this man. One that was the only one that seemed to answer anything directly as hard as I have tried my whole life.
"I'm not so sure, maybe if you answer some of my questions about her. I might keep her around." I said in cocky voice crossing my leg over my knee in the red satin chair, putting my finger to my chin as I gazed upon him as if I was the one that controlled the conversation when in reality he always would. Always three steps ahead of me as if anticipating my moves.
"What would you like to know?" He asked with a mischievous tone of voice. Hoping for once that this would be easy to get the information I wanted. But still I needed to be sharp when it came to my Uncle. A perfection at keeping what he wanted to himself and only said what he felt was enough.
"Will we can start with, why?" Tilting my head more in confusing still on why a girl now and why this one. There had to be a specific reason and I want to find that out most of all.
"Are you asking why I got you a girl for your birthday Lawrence?" He said in a sarcastic manner but still serious. His grey blue eyes leveled on me as if to say you are playing a dangerous game in there depths.
"Yes, there's a reason you got this particular girl isn't there." Narrowing my eyes at him in the end knowing there had to be a bigger picture to this. One that he most likely would be the only one that knows it.
"What would that be Lawrence....?" He said as if amused by my question.
I got up from my chair looking back and forth from Uncle to the room as I wandered around in an arrogant type of manner, hoping my attitude would get a straight answer out of him. If that ever could happen.
"Will first of all she's plain." Shrugging my shoulders in hopes he would believe me. The statement itself was the biggest lie I had ever said to him. "I know you could have found someone that was beautiful at least." Sighing at the end as I walked around aimlessly. His brow lifting in puzzlement with that statement. Which I couldn't blame him by the looks both Ace and Kyle threw at me as if I was blind. Which I wasn't but was playing his game. The only one I knew that might get me what I want. Showing my disinterest on my face for him to see my disappoint with my comment.
"So you don't think she's beautiful?" Uncle asked curiously as I ran my fingers over the dusty books stopping at one that was a old worn red leather bound book with the words; 'Love, Betrayal, and War,' sewn into the spines binding. A fitting topic to stumble over as I had read it and gave a quiet chuckle at the thought.
"Not at all." I said halfheartedly, swiftly turning to look at him with a smirk on my face as I walked back over to him with one hand in my pocket.
"Will I'm disappointed to hear that. I thought she was perfect for you, but by the red hand print on your cheek I could say otherwise." He said as he stood up from behind the desk and sitting back down on the front top of the desk crossing his arms over his chest calmly smiling.
"She is quite annoying." I said putting a hand to the cheek, rubbing the spot were her small soft hand had made contact with my face in a attempted to hurt me and run. But I didn't realize until now how forcefully that hit was. It actually hurt right now as I touched my cheek with my fingers, how come this actually hurts? That made a chuckle escape my lips in amusement on how someone so small and delicate, could have so much force into one little slap. Maybe this girl has more fight in her then I thought
