Lawrence
Let's just say he had less than adequate timing to tell Hayley but when we were stepping into a room packed with wolves he could at least give her a bone to digest. Even if it was last minute dinner but still enough to make it do the job as her face turned to me with a look of clarity mixed with interest. That was a good start to the bomb he had just dropped on her as the car door opened just at that moment. Stepping out taking Melanie's hand proudly as she held her head high even though it was masking her concern for her friend.
"You could have told me he was going to drop the bomb right now so I could at least prepare myself for the talk of the century I'm going to receive. Hopefully by the end of the night I will still have an ear." Melanie hissed without fautler of her smile to the cameras.
"If I would have known. I would have told you." I replied nodding my head with a straight face to the reporters.
"Just like you told me about this event like all the other times?" She countered lifting a brow waiting for Pauli and Hayley to step out finally seeing Hayley with a brilliant smile that was fake as ever could one be.
"I wasn't sure if I was going to attended, but many of the investors want to meet this so called Ms. Renalls that has very persuasive emails." I remarked having a few other people inquiring about my new private assistant that was turning heads or should I say fingers, from her organized emails and straight to the point spread sheets. But tonight I had no doubt she would turn those heads and a few pockets too.
"So I'm only here to be shown off then?" She said breaking me from my thoughts as I wrapped my arms around her back resting my hand on her hip with a tight hold to my side as I turned to look down to those bright green eyes filled with amusement. Featuring a kick to the side of her lip. Deviously, I leaned down to her ear seeing a shiver run down her body the moment my warm breath hit her cooling skin.
"Precisely and a little bit for eye candy. Some people think I'm losing my edge with women but, once they see you. They'll know why I'm completely faithful to one women now. " I whispered in her ear as the cameras went crazy, then bit her the lobe hearing her soft gasp leaning away as I smirked. Her face flush beautifully for the paparazzi as we started the walk to the entrance with reporters and publishing house agency's lining the side with an icon board.
"You have such a way with words to make me feel good about myself without being direct. You naughty man." She retorted clutching her hands together wandering what she was keeping herself from doing to me no doubt.
"That's why I'm good at who I am." I countered stopping as a few cameras snapped more shoots of us, Melanie playing the perfect roll of smiling wide contrast to my straight one.
"And why you have such an ego to go with it." She replied suppressing myself from grinning. Turning back too her as I leaned down millimetres from her lips, her eyes widen on mine as the sounds around us vanished from my hearing and all there was was my little Melanie.
"So feisty with that tongue. How will I ever keep myself in check." I whispered mischievous loving how much fun it was to spare with her.
"That's why I'm good at who I am." She declared back, her lips curving slowly as I captured then softly.
Just as my lips settled on her there was a rush of snaps and calling from the paparazzi. Bring us back to the red carpet of the night. Pulling away just as fast unable to wipe the grin off my lips as she turned quickly to the reporters snapping out of her daze hastily.
"You did that on purpose, didn't you." She questioned but more of a statement as I turned to a camera pulling her back into my side tightly.
