Try Again ~ Bughead

Chapter Four

Betty POV

I finished at lunch time today so I decided to go and see Jughead to ask him if he wanted to see Isla again. So I walked to the precinct he worked at and looked around to see if I could notice him but I couldn't see him so I decided to ask a officer so I walked over to the front desk.

"Hello Mam. How could I help you?" The officer said

"I'm looking for an officer. His names Jughead Jones?"

"Ok. Are you here to report a crime?"

"No. I'm uh family I guess. He's my daughters dad."

"Oh your Isla's Mom? You haven't changed much have you." He said smiling

"Uh how do you know about Isla?" I ask confused

"He has a picture of you and Isla on his desk. Come on he's just in interrogation now. I'll take you to his desk and you can wait for him." He says standing up from behind the desk and walks round and I follow him and he takes me to where there where desks and he pointed to one. I thanked him and went and sat at the desk.

I looked at the desk it had a few files on it and a few pen pots with pens and pencils and stuff in and there was two photo frames one had the first and only ultrasound of Isla in she was only a small bean in the ultrasound she was 7 weeks at the time. And in the other there was a picture of me and Jughead sat on the couch in the old apartment back in Riverdale and Jughead had his arm around me and I was leaning into his side and Isla was only just born and she was asleep in between us. I smiled at the picture and just sat waiting for Jughead to come back then I saw him walk round the corner. And hot dam did he look sexy in his uniform. Betty stop thinking about that. He didn't have his beanie on and his long black wavy hair was loose and dangling down in front of his face as he was looking down reading a file in his hand. He had a gun strapped to his belt and he had one hand on top of the gun as he walked.

As he got closer to the desk he looked up and saw me and smiled and put the file on his desk and sat on the chair next to his desk and ran his hands threw his hair.

"Betty. What you doing here?" He says smiling

"I came to ask you if you wanted to see Isla again?"

"Of course I do. But dose she WANT me to see her agin?" He says twiddling with his fingers says looking down at his hands.

"Jug. She thinks your amazing she wants to believe me. She asked about 10million times this morning when she was going to see you again." I say chuckling

"Of course I want to see her again. I can give you my number and you can text me when it's ok for me to see her and I can see what shifts I'm working and let you know." He says writing his number down on a pice of paper to me

"Ok. I'm going to go and left you work." I say smiling and standing up "bye Jug."

"Bye betts." He says smiling and I walk out of the precinct and back to the apartment.

Later me and Isla where eating dinner when Isla said "mommy?"

"Ye."

"How will you know when daddy is better and can come back?"

"I told him when he was better he had to come back."

"Ok. Can I read my book now?"

"Sure. As long as you put your dishes in the sink." I say smiling at her and she jumps of her chair and grabs her plate and puts it into the sink. Then once I finished my food I put my dishes in the sink to clean it later and I go and sit next to Isla in the couch where she was reading a book. I decided to text Jughead.

Betts🌸: Hey Jug it's Betty. Are you free tomorrow? Isla really wants to see you.

Jug🍔: Hey Betts. Ye I finish work at 2:30pm so I can do any time after that if that's ok?

Betts🌸: How about 3:00? You can come round to the apartment to see her for a few hours?

Jug🍔: Sure I'll be there. I have to get back to work so I'll talk to you and Isla tomorrow.

I spent the night cuddled up on the couch with Isla.
