Taeyun looked in front of her and gulped. She didn't expect to be this nervous or worried about her now decisions. She hoped her future choices would be better than her past.

Her early childhood was full of laughter and smiles. Memories of playing with her father, while her mother would cook dinner. Nights when heavy rain, lighting and claps of thunder would scare her, but her sister was never far away to comfort her.

But that all changed within a night. She was out with her parents and her unnie when the tragedy struck. A causal going out with her family killed her three closest family member but left her at the age of seven. The crash killed her sister instantly but her parents soon died in hospital. When she woke up, the news was told to her leaving her broken. This was her first heartbreak.

When she was discharged out of the hospital, she was sent to her uncle's and aunt's house. She wasn't fond or even close to these relatives apart from their only son. He was fourteen year's older than Taeyun and loved her as his sister. Both cousins grieved for the loss of their family, while the uncle and aunt showed no sign of grieving. And if grieving wasn't bad enough, they would abuse her. Instead of welcoming her to their home, they abused and mistreated her. Giving her the bare minimum of food and clothing.

Days turned into weeks. Weeks turned into months. Taeyun could take no more. It was the day her older cousin would be leaving to join the army, (as he decided to go early) that she ran away. She told her cousin and tried to persuade him to run away too, but he refused. He stayed loyal to his parents, and with tears in his eyes let Taeyun out the door before his parents woke up.  She ran with tears in her eyes as she looked back at her older cousin for the last time. This was her second heartbreak.

Somehow, Taeyun was enrolled into a school. With barely any education, she had gaps in her knowledge. Her teachers was at first nice and tried to teach her, but soon got fed up as they realized it was harder than they thought. Within months, the teachers were not just fed up but annoyed and was at a breaking point of frustration. One teacher finally asked for her to be tested to see if Taeyun suffered from a mental blockage that stopped her from learning. After being tested it was confirmed that Taeyun was dyslexic.

Teachers left her to be without giving her any help. In wanting to find a way to do something, Taeyun took up dancing. She first found it difficult to pick up the basic moves, but with the help of a kind teacher, Park Jongwon. He was in his mid-forties and encouraged Taeyun to take up music as well. His wife (Park Seoyoung) taught music and was just as kind Taeyun. When hearing about Taeyun's life they took her in treated her like their daughter. Taeyun progressed in both dancing and music and was soon made captain over the dance squad.

When entering her first year of middle school, Taeyun found what she thought was her best friend. It was a girl with a confident personality by the name of Sejin. Taeyun looked at her with adoration. Sejin was the girl that every girl wanted to be like. She had all the latest fashion, not to mention the latest gossip about who was dating who. Taeyun was just glad to finally have a friend. It was months later, that Taeyun overheard a conversation with Sejin and another girl from Taeyun's dance squad.

"So basically, you're using Taeyun to get into the dance squad," said unnamed girl.

"Yeah, if I persuade her to ask Mr Park to let me join, I bet he will allow it. And once I'm in I'll cut off all ties with Taeyun and push her out of the squad. No one would even notice my plan. Teayun is naive."

Seojin and her friend laughed at Taeyun and left. Taeyun, however, was broken at thought of being used to get into a team that she worked so hard for.  Tears welled up her eyes at the thought of not having a real friend. This was her third heartbreak.

Taeyun now stood outside now six years on, and there a door that was a barrier between her new life to come and her old one. She learnt many lessons from fake friends and loving people. She realized that not all people are mean and some are just too weak to turn away from those they knew all their lives. Not everyone will leave you.

She sighed and looked at her watch. It was now or never. Gulping back all fears, she opened the door to Big Hit Entertainment as the 8th and final member of BTS.
