Dorian leant his back on the wall, as he looked over his shoulder round the corner of the alleyway for any Blighters, while Jacob interrogated the man in a red tailcoat.
"Tell me where Leopold Bacchus is hiding!" Jacob snarled in his face, grip tightening on the collar. The Blighter glared at Jacob for a moment before screaming out.
"Help! Help! Assassins! Assas-Ooft!" He grunted mid sentence as Jacob picked him up and bashed him against the wall.
"Tell me now and I might just let you live!"
Dorian saw dots of red in the distance as a group of blighters came to the rescue of their comrade.
"Jacob we need to go." He said, turning away from the corner and towards Jacob, grabbing his shoulder as he continued to walk past.
"Tell me where to find him!" He shouted at the Blighter, who was weeping in pain.
"I can't-"
"Tell me!"
"Jacob!" Dorian grabbed his arm and tugged. "Now!"
As the sound of distant footsteps came closer, Jacob huffed and dropped the man to the floor, following Dorian out the alley and firing his grappling hook at the roof. They ran along the rooftops until they were far away enough from their previous location. Dorian walked over to the edge of the building and sat down, his legs dangling over the edge, putting his elbows on his knees and face in his hands sighing as Jacob kicked a chimney in frustration.
"Argh! We're never going to find him at this rate!" He said as he took a seat next to Dorian. The sun was set and the sky was slowly becoming darker.
It had been a week since Dorian had arrived and everyday they had been working on freeing Lambeth from Blighter control. Right now they were working towards finding the escaped thief, Leopold Bacchus, but with no leads it was getting more and more frustrating.
"Where's that bird of yours got to anyway?" Jacob asked looking around as Dorian ran his hands over his face and through his hair, he began focusing on something down below.
"Jacob, is it just me or is there a lot of blighters guarding that sewer entrance?"
Jacob took his attention away from the sky to look down and shrugged. "Maybe they're guarding the shit that comes out of their leaders mouth."
Dorian frowned at the assassin briefly before turning his focus back to the sewer. "I'm going to go down and have a look at what they're guarding."
"Have fun walking in Blighter piss!" Jacob called as Dorian stood up.
"You're coming with me you know."
"Says who?"
"Says me. Don't you want to knock the teeth out a few blighters?" Dorian jumped down, a hidden blade springing free and landing in the neck of a Blighter. There was a sound of rustling clothes and a thump as Jacob landed beside him.
"How do you wanna get rid of these guys, I distract you kill? Call some of my rooks?" He asked, listing off ideas. Before Dorian could respond a watcher had spotted them and had already warned all surrounding blighters that they were there.
"Well so much for a stealthy entrance." Dorian groaned, unsheathing both his hidden blades as Jacob pulled out a kukri knife, ready to take on the horde of blighters."Catch!" Jacob yelled, kicking the last stumbling Blighter towards Dorian, who drove both blades into his back.
"Let's get going then." Dorian said after a few moments, sheathing his blades and heading down the slope towards the sewer tunnel.
"Urgh, it's awful down here, why would anyone want to guard this-"
"Shh!" Dorian quickly cut him off, creeping down the tunnel he could hear voices, peering over the edge he found him, Leopold Bacchus, mumbling to himself about diamonds and jewels. Waving Jacob over the assassins looked around they planned how to get this man out of here alive without him escaping.
"Jump across the beams to the other side, you jump down first, that way he'll run towards my end and find himself trapped." Jacob said, pointing to the ledge on the other side of the room. Dorian nodded and silently made his way across the beams, and once in position, after nodding to Jacob, jumped down and startled the target. Leopold began stuttering out words, a mess of who's, what's and where's, walking backwards to keep watching the hooded stranger he didn't notice Jacob dropping behind him, and walked straight into his arms. Being much stronger than Dorian, he was able to restrain the squirming Leopold with ease.
"Who are you? What do you want with me?" He cried as they walked out
"Shut up." Jacob snapped, shoving the man forwards.
"Are you with the police? Are you coppers?"
"Be quiet." Dorian hissed as he lead the way outside. They made it out into the night air and towards the roads in hopes of finding a carriage they could use, and thankfully a couple of rooks were spotted across the street with one that they gladly handed over to their leader. Jacob shoved Leopold in who was begging to be freed, while Dorian climbed up next to the drivers seat, holding the reins for Jacob until he climbed up. Jacob climbed up next to him, pushed his hood down and reached into his jacket for what appeared to be a flat disc, which quickly bounced into the shape of a top hat. Taking the reins he gently urged the horses on and began the route to the police station.
"Good thing we noticed all those suspicious blighters then!" Jacob said as the carriage wheel bumped the curb.
"Good thing I noticed them Mr Frye." Dorian replied, smirking. "Remind me, why do I let you drive?"
"What do you mean?" The carriage bashed into another as they overtook.
"I mean that Jacob!" Dorian chuckled, holding on to whatever he could as they turned a corner, taking a lamppost with them.
"I'm a perfect driver Dorian!" Jacob joked, pulling up outside the police station. Jumping down, Dorian tapped the lamppost they seemed to have taken with them and raised an eyebrow at Jacob.
"Explain this then."
He shrugged, opening the door to pull out Leopold, who seemed like he was about to be sick. "It was there when I got it."
Dorian shook his head and followed the male Frye twin into the station.
