The city was quieter for the rest of the night, peaceful, as Dorian watched the sun begin to rise. He looked down at the man snoring gently in his lap, and took in the little details. The little scars here and there, his unshaven face with the lightest dusting of tiny freckles, only to be seen if looked close enough. As much as Dorian didn't want to wake him, he knew he had to, he himself was getting tired and couldn't leave him here for the day. The sound of flapping wings brought his attention back to the real world, as Oliver landed in front of him.
"Where've you been mister?" He asked the raven.
"Hello."
"Not doing much then?"
"Frye."
"Yeah I know, we found him in the end, maybe if you turned up you would have joined in on the fun." Dorian continued his one-sided conversation until Jacob woke up mid conversation, in a sleepy daze, listening to Dorian talk to his bird, with no context.
"So anyway, Judy's head fell off, the children are screaming, the adults are trying not to laugh, the man in the box has no idea what to do, Mr Punch has dropped the sausages-"
"I'm sorry who's head fell off?" Jacob asked, looking up at Dorian like he was a madman. Dorian jumped slightly, not noticing he had woken up, then smiled to himself.
"Punch and Judy shows, this one here loves them, was just telling him about one I saw go tits up on my way to London."
"That's the way to do it!" Oliver burst out in the most awful, squawky voice, making both men jump and cringe.
"I want to point out, he didn't learn that off me." Dorian said in a defeated tone. "Honestly, I thought he'd forgotten it."
"And here I thought the 'hello's and 'Jacob Frye's were annoying." Jacob said, sitting up. "Think we should head back now, I imagine Evie is waiting to castrate us both for staying out all night."
Dorian nodded and stood up too, cracking his neck and shoulders before beginning the descent and heading home.

As soon as they boarded the train Dorian crashed onto one of the sofas that Agnes had bought so that more than one person could sleep in Jacobs carriage.
"Sorry it's not a proper bed lad, but it'll have to do." She had said as Nigel and a Rook hauled the small couch into place opposite Jacobs. Dorian couldn't care less about what he'd be sleeping on, and right now he was thankful for being able to just lie down and close his eyes. Shuffling his coat off his arms he used it as a makeshift blanket, not bothering to actually go down the carriage and find one, and kicking his boots off, the assassin had quickly fallen asleep.
Jacob had done the same but couldn't find himself able to get back to sleep, blaming it on the sun bleeding through the curtains. Sitting up, he watched the lump that was the other assassin, body hidden completely under his coat, with the exception of his feet poking out. Jacob smiled, standing up and walking over to a small cupboard down by the far end of the carriage and pulling out one of the blankets stored in there. He unfolded the blanket and gently put it over Dorian before heading outside, looking over his shoulder before he closed the door at the sleeping mound with the raven perched on a shelf above him. Smiling, Jacob pulled the door shut and jumped off the train, what he was going to do, he wasn't sure yet. But as he jumped off the train and began walking the streets, he was overhearing conversations about 'Starrick's Soothing Syrup', and seeing for himself the mix of results from the syrup. There were people on the side of the street, staring into nothing. There were others protesting against the use of it, and several merchants trying to sell.
"Guess I'll take a look into whatever this is then." He said to himself, heading towards the docks.

It wasn't until afternoon that Dorian woke up, with the weight of his own coat and a blanket on top of him. Sitting up and he stretched, feeling everything in his body clicking and cracking after another night on the sofa. When he could he was definitely going to invest in getting a bed here. He stood up and walked over to a sink in the corner, splashing some water in his face and in his hair in an attempt to make him feel more awake and alive. There was no sign of Jacob anywhere, and he wasn't entirely sure if that meant he could relax or stress over what mayhem he's causing across London.
"I'm sure he's just out with his Rooks, my guess is fight club, what about you Oli?"
"Jacob Frye."
"Hmm maybe, he could be there." He replied, sticking an arm out for Oliver as he made his way to the other end of the carriage towards the main car, careful not to stub his toe on the piles of crap scattered across the floor. Stepping into the main car he found Evie and Henry looking over a notebook together, eyes not leaving the book in front of them as they flipped through its pages, taking in every detail and talking between each other, throwing ideas back and forth. After hearing the phrase 'Piece of Eden' Dorian decided it was best just to ignore them like the younger twin does. After he turned on the gas to get the kettle boiling he slapped around his pockets looking for his cigarettes, before remembering he left them in his coat. The raven looked up at him as if knowing what he was about to be asked.
"Hey mate, fetch my cigs for me?" He smiled to his bird, who gently flew across the carriage into the next after the command. He rummaged around through his masters coat, dragging bits and pieces out of his pockets, and when he realised it was the wrong thing, threw it on the floor. He found the box he recognised as his masters 'cigs' and held it in his large beak. About to take off he noticed something shiny, a shilling on a piece of string caught the birds interest, and he picked it up with a talon to play with later. Flying back to his master he landed on a table where Dorian was bringing his tea and a plate with some kind of small animals leg on it for. Oliver placed the box of cigarettes in his hand and excitedly awaited his breakfast, even trying to run forward to snatch it.
"Ah ah ah!" He tutted, pulling the plate away "what else do you have there?" The bird paused for a moment, protective of his new shiny new toy. But the food looked so good. Dorian snapped his fingers once and the raven quickly handed over his toy in exchange for food. Dorian examined the necklace for a moment before realising it was Jacobs, and that it must have fallen off when they got back. Tying it around his wrist so he wouldn't forget or lose it, he lit the cigarette between his lips and enjoyed his breakfast with the raven, or rather, afternoon tea.
