Three dead bodies? Homicide? Act of arson? Twenty stab wounds..? Oh god, what happened?
I wanted to look at the others, but we were all so fixated on the TV and what Shanon Wallace was announcing. The actual words spilling out of her mouth, before they transitioned to sports talk.
"Change it," Lunar mumbled, her purple-tinted gray eyes dulling even more so in color.
I clicked the button to change the channel, but the next thing on was Law & Order on this channel. We had to keep switching because it was just a repetition of murder shows.
How To Get Away With Murder, Snapped, Dateline, Forensic Files, Castle, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, NCIS, and even Bones.
I groaned in frustration until the channel finally had something that wasn't unsettling in our stomachs. It was just a romance movie playing on the Hallmark channel.
No one spoke, instead, we watched the movie. None of us really paid any attention to it but we still watched it instead of discussing what happened.
"Was someone really trying to hurt everyone?" Draco pondered to himself aloud. Lunar soon joined him when she spoke and said, "Did they have a specific target?"
"Guys, let's be serious here. Three people were killed and the place was set aflame to throw off tracks. But maybe it was just a coincidence?" Rainbow's voice cracked a little when she spoke.
"Far too gruesome to just be a coincidence. They knew that they needed to get rid of the evidence. And twenty stab wounds?" I shook my head as I spoke.
"Maybe they let out all their anger when stabbing those three people. Not planned out like some sort of mastermind homicide," Funneh piped up.
We kept theorizing, accusations and possibilities flying around loosely as we debated. The TV had been changed to another channel by Rainbow, who felt the romance movie was far too cheesy, even for her own liking.
Then my phone buzzed. It vibrated underneath my blanket. A few seconds later, Funneh's phone buzzed and flashed from the camera lense as some phones do.
Then Funneh's phone buzzed and vibrated again, not long before mine did again as well. But then, a chain started to form. Draco's phone beeped, followed by Lunar's phone buzzing, and then Rainbow's lit up seconds afterwards.
We all picked our phones up, looking at our notifications, which were pretty common such as Instagram or Twitter from earlier, just not from right now.
I opened the phone up and tapped into iMessage, which was saying I had unread messages. There were quite a few of them, all from the same number. A number in which I didn't know.
