I just finished writing this chapter, and I know I should save it to upload tomorrow, but I really just cant help myself. So here you go. Enjoy!

Picture at the top is Abarron. Peep that jawline <3

Sins of the past are always behind you

You cant bury them

You cant hide from them

You will always run

Until the day you don't

Finally, my tummy is full. I sit back in the chair and breathe a loud sigh of contentment. Everything is good.

Except I'm still a victim of kidnapping.

"Holy shit." I exclaim.

"Don't cuss in front of Fen." Abarron says sternly from where he sits a few feet from me.

"I'm 14, Abarron; I know what cussing is." Fen said, stubbornly.

Abarron gave him a stern look and I swear I hear Fen whimper.

I just realized something. Everyone at college must have realized I was gone by now, and if they found the discarded suicide note I had foolishly thrown out the window of my car, they would think I'm dead. It wasn't even a good note either. It was too sloppy.

"So why did you so foolishly cuss in front of Fen?" I look up to see Abarron glaring at me.

I glare back, staying silent.

"Why are you glaring at me like that?" he asks

"I'm hoping you'll spontaneously combust." I remark, and stand from the chair. Light is beginning to peek through the tall trees, and birds are chirping outside.

"Aurellius, Ciprian, take Kaliya out and show her the garden. She will be your responsibility today." I hear Abarron command as I set my dish in the sink.

"Yes, Boss." They say in unison and suddenly I'm grabbed from behind and spun around to face the two grinning young men.

"Come on, Kallie!" Aurel says, grabbing my hand and dragging me into the front room.

"She cant go outside barefoot, Aurel." Ciprian tugged on my other arm.

"Wait." Abarron booms, silencing the room. "Someone's here."

The boys freeze, as does everyone else in the house.

I draw in a deep breath. If someone was here, they could rescue me. I could finally leave this place. "Help!" I scream as loud as I possibly can.

I'm on the floor in an instant, three bodies on top of me. Abarron looks up from where he is perched on top of Aurellius and Ciprian. "Get her into the basement, hurry. Don't let her make anymore noise. Just go." I see him spring off of the boys just as the front door explodes. I cant see much as the boys drag me inhumanly fast toward the stairs into the basement. I see wood splinter across the floor and hear growling, as if dogs were fighting. I hear whimpering as the door to the basement bangs open and I'm thrown down the stairs. I reach the bottom, holding my head to prevent it from banging against the cement floor, and see Fen running down the stairs after me, the door behind him shut, and probably locked, although I cant hear anything over the howling and crashing happening upstairs.

"What's happening?" I asked, picking myself up.

Fen covers his ears, tears seeping from his eyes. "They're attacking them!" he gasps. "They came, and now they're hurting them." He's sobbing, clutching his hands tightly over his ears so he wouldn't have to hear the howling.

"They have dogs? I can help! I can fight!" I dash around them and up the stairs, slamming myself against it. I jiggle the knob, but as I expected, I couldn't get through. The howling continues, but I cant tell what's happening through the door.

I start pounding on it. "Let me out! I can help! Let me out!" My fists bang against the door, and I can feel splinters coming off, stabbing into my hand. If I can hit it hard enough, maybe it would break. I slam my shoulder into the door, over and over, but with the stairs behind me, I cant get enough momentum to break through. Fen grabs me from behind.

"Stop! Stop! Please; they'll find us!" He cried.

"Who are they?" I ask, crouching down. I grab his shoulders. "Who are they, Fen?"

He sniffles, wiping his nose. "I cant tell you. Abarron said we couldn't say anything about it."

"About what?"

The hairs on the back of my neck stood up. Someone is behind us.

I jerked my head around just in time for the house to go silent, except for the door swinging ominously open, letting out a whine. A tall figure stands there, heavy-set, but not overweight. Although I can't make out distinctive features, I know he isn't anyone I've met so far.

Fen screams when he sees him, and I flinch from the noise as Fen races down the stairs. I straighten up and my hand goes to the knife, preparing to protect Fen from this man.

He takes a step toward me and shuts the door. I back down the stairs as he advances toward me, until I'm on the cement floor of the basement. My back touches the wall, and I pull the knife from my pocket. He gets close enough that I can touch him.

"I've found you, Golden Wolf." He chuckles.

No.

How could he have known?

He tips my chin up with his fingers and my blood runs cold. I feel my mouth fall just barely open as I look into the eyes of a tall man with eyes the color of the blood I'd once spilled. The man smiles, and his breath smells of decayed flesh, his teeth razor sharp. "What will you do now, Golden Wolf? Your entire family is gone. Finally, we will have our revenge. Golden Wolf isn't a wolf after all. Just a scared little human." He flicks away the knife I'm feebly grasping. "And just to think, you killed all those people."

I always knew this day would come. When my past would finally catch up to me. But why here? Why now? How can they have found me, when I don't even know where I am?

Golden Wolf.

It's been a while.

Am I really that person anymore? I know I cant make up for the sins I committed back then. The atrocities I created with my own hands. I thought I was done with it. Maybe I could have been normal.

I will never escape, though. In this business, you're not out until you're dead.

The Golden Wolf has finally killed her most sought after prey.

Herself.
