*Chris's POV*

I looked down at the small boy that Carlie claimed was mine. I just couldn't believe it, for several reasons. I think the biggest reason is she's a lying, cheating bitch.

Another is that he looked nothing like me. He had blond hair, blue eyes, and a small nose. Nothing like my dark hair, brown eyes, and large nose. He had a rounded chin, whereas mine is more pointed.

"No, he's not." I told Carlie defiantly. "Yeah, he is Chris. I'm so sorry I never told you, but-" "Stop!" I hissed at her. The boy looked up at me with slight fear in his eyes, so I took a deep breath to relax. "He isn't my child and I know it." I said.

I pulled out my phone to text Sin, ignoring Carlie's supposed explanation.

Chris: she called me here 2 say i hav a kid w/ her?!

Sin: ........is it rly urs?

Chris: no way in Hell, looks nothing like me

Sin: still could b. get a test?

Chris: y should i wen I kno shes lying?

"Chris, really? Are you even listening?" Carlie asked, ripping my phone out of my hands. She tried to look at the screen, and I snatched it away from her. "No, Carlie. I'm not listening to your meaningless lies."

I looked over at the child.

"Is this your mommy?" I asked him. Blaze nodded happily, and I felt sorry for him. "Well, how much do you know about lies?" I asked.

"Lies are bad!" Blaze replied, and I smiled. "So you wouldn't ever lie, even if someone asked you to?" He shook his head no. "Good." I smiled again. My phone buzzed again and I looked while Carlie growled at me.

Sin: just 2 b sure baby thats all

Chris: Nah I can make her fess up eventually

Blaze tapped me on the knee and I looked at him. "Mommy says you're my daddy." Blaze said, "Are you?" I felt Carlie's eyes burning holes into me, and decided to say, "I don't know, Blaze. I might be."

He looked at me with raw sadness, and I truly felt bad for him. His mom was a whore and ex-druggie, though for all I knew she had started doing drugs again. It wouldn't surprise me.

"We'll see, okay?" I tried to comfort him as Carlie gave me a look of disapproval. He smiled and said, "Okay!" Suddenly, I felt dizzy and lightheaded, as well as nauseous. "Chris? Are you okay?" Carlie asked, fear in her voice. Then everything went black.

*Sin's POV*

"I'm not taking that bet, that's a sucker bet!" Ashley exclaimed, and I giggled. I had asked her to bet me on whether Carlie was going to try and get Chris back, and she was having none of it.

I was a little worried that about how Chris wanted to make Carlie fess up, but I knew he would never put hands on a woman, so I told myself to let it go. I heard my phone ringing on the side table, so I picked it up and answered.

Sin: Hello?

Carlie: Hi, is this Sin, Chris's girl?

Sin: Um, yeah. Who are you and why do you have his phone?

Carlie: I'm an old friend, he needs you, Scranton Community Hospital.

Sin: What happened?!

Carlie: I don't know, one second he was fine, and then he was unconscious, so I called an ambulance.

Sin: I'll be right there.

I hung up the phone and jumped up, grabbing my car keys. "What's wrong?" Ashley asked, following me to the door. "Chris is in the hospital." I answered, fighting back tears.

We raced to my car and sped to the hospital, then ran inside to the nurse's station. "Can I help you?" a brunette asked us. "What room is Christopher Cerulli in?" I asked her breathlessly, Ashley beside me, panting.

She typed something into her computer, then said, "Mr. Cerulli is in room 207, but he may not be awake, so-" Ashley and I took off running, not letting her finish her sentence.

We rode up the elevator and down the hall to Chris's room. The first thing we saw was him laying in the bed, asleep, and then saw some girl with a bad bleach job sitting with a small boy on her lap.

"Ashley, hey!" the girl whispered happily, then saw me. "And you must be Sin?" I nodded as Ashley glared at her, and I figured that was Carlie, with the boy she said was Chris's son.

"Is he okay?" I asked, motioning to Chris. I was terrified for him. Carlie nodded, and told us the doctors explained it as too much stress, and too little food. It took her saying that for me to realize he had barely eaten since I got pregnant, and wondered why.

"You can go now." Ashley told her coldly, and Carlie smirked at her. "That any way to treat the one who helped him?" The boy in her lap started to appear frightened, so I clamped a hand over Ashley's mouth, preventing her from arguing any further.

"Thank you for helping him, but I'm not sure he wants to see you upon waking up." I said quietly, and she squinted her eyes at me, judging silently, then nodded.

Carlie gently pushed the boy off her lap, then stood. "Call me when he wakes up?" she requested, and Ashley pulled my hand away. "Go to Hell." she growled.

"Not in front of a kid!" I snapped at her, louder than I meant to. We all looked at Chris, who stirred for just a moment, but didn't wake up. We all sighed with relief, and I asked Carlie to leave.

"Whatever." she said with a huff, taking the child's hand. They walked out, and I smiled, then flipped off the empty doorway. Ashley high fived me, and then we looked at Chris.

"He better wake up soon..." Ashley whispered, sounding ready to cry. I nodded, feeling tears form in my own eyes. "Yeah he better."
