Chapter 18: Still Alive

And to my great surprise, Eraqus left the building to talk to Kavinsky.

I would have never dreamed of a legend being true. Only until now was I convinced that it was Kavinsky.

I was even more surprised when Eraqus led Kavinsky inside. He introduced us to Kavinsky, and let us speak.

"So why did you save us?" Private Terra asked.

"I felt the presence of my enemy. I felt him harming other people, so I took him away from you."

Wait... he was enemies with Pennywise?

Thankfully, he explained that when he told the story of how Pennywise was created. It was really interesting, to my surprise.

Apparently Pennywise was actually a human named Robert Gray, who was turned into the clown by Rumpelstiltskin, The Dark One. Long story short, Kavinsky had picked Private Terra to help him find Regina Mills, The Evil Queen and stop The Dark One from helping Pennywise.

I was taken aback by this, but I knew that Private Terra should go. And he did.

He left with Kavinsky, leaving the rest of us behind. Luckily, I still had a job to go to.

So I went to the Phoenix Foundation, greeted by Hopper, who wasn't as angry or dull as he had been before.

"What's up?" I asked.

"Well, Hartman, it appears that I won't need you to work today."

Wait, what?

"It's not just you. Everyone's off. You see, I've been a little harsh at you and the others, and I realized just how much it mattered to me, and you. You've got a break today. Go enjoy yourself."

Wow, he was being generous. So because of this, I walked up to Jack and Bozer who were just about to leave.

"Hey, guys!" I called.

"Oh, hey, Hartman! How's it going?" Bozer asked.

"I'm doing just fine today. Listen, I've made some new friends over these last weeks. Would you like to join us? We're meeting at McDonald's."

It was true. Eraqus and I had arranged a time for us to just talk and conversate. A few more friends couldn't hurt.

"Well, sure, man!" Jack grinned. "Who are you seeing?"

"Just my friend Eraqus. He's Anthony's brother."

"Wait... Anthony, like..."

I nodded.

"Alright! Let's go!"

So as we ate chicken nuggets, Jack, Bozer, Eraqus and I talked about our adventures and our jobs.

As we were leaving, and everyone waved to Eraqus and me, he looked at me.

"Hartman, I found something out today. I'll tell you when we get back."

When we got back, he showed me a picture.

"I have some good news, and some bad news. The place that Kavinsky and Terra went to, I've been there before. I installed cameras all around, so I could track anything suspicious. But I saw something unusual today."

He revealed Rumpelstiltskin talking. Talking to Pennywise.

"He just made a deal to keep Pennywise immortal. This isn't good."

"You're right. I'll tell them when they get back."

So when I heard Private Terra rejoicing that he saved Robert Gray, I walked in.

"What?" I asked.

"I said, I saved Robert Gray."

"No." I said clearly. "You didn't save Robert Gray."

I told him the information that I just received, and they all looked shocked.

"I know exactly where he is."

Where was he? The place that he was before! The place everyone found themselves at.

Private Terra's house.
