I was going to kill that clown.
When I appeared at Private Terra's house, I felt satisfied. I knew that he was at this place, and that I had made the right decision.
I entered the building and found that there was a video waiting for me on the TV, labeled Pennywise. So that was his name. Pennywise the Dancing Clown.
The video was lagging, but that was fine by me. I hated that clown with my life.
And I showed that when I turned around to see the clown himself in front of me.
He laughed. "Did you see my video? It kinda lagged out. That's why I hate these stupid televisions. I said, 'Hi, Seargant Hartman. I'm here... To get REVENGE ON YOU!'"
Apparently, he had teleporting powers, because he teleported me to the basement.
I watched as he danced stupidly. He was the dumbest thing I ever saw. Suddenly, he ran towards me, and I was ready. I teleported the 2 of us to the backyard, and we fought for about an hour. I used as many weapons as I could find, and finally fought him down.
"Imded." That was his last words before he disappeared.
"Yes you are." I agreed.
I concluded that it was time for me to go back, so I did.
And there they were. Private Terra and Clayton standing in front of me, frowning.
"Where were you? We were looking all over for you! What were you doing?"
"I was killing Pennywise the Dancing Clown at your house." I replied.
"You can't kill him! He's immortal!" Private Terra protested.
"Well you know what? That's ok! Because now he knows we can't be beaten. And that's worth fighting for."
Private Terra looked at me, wide eyed.
Clayton smiled and walked up to me.
"I know what you mean, Hartman." He said quietly.
"Remember when we fought and you got shot in the leg?"
I nodded. It was a hard time, the war. I had hid behind a rock while Private Cowboy helped fix my foot. It wasn't too bad, but it was bleeding, and I needed that medical coverage I had before.
Clayton had gone ahead of me and I yelled out, "No! Wait!" But he refused.
"You're hurt. If I die, I die protecting you. That's worth fighting for."
That really got me. He never did die though. As he stood in front of me with Private Terra, I understood exactly what he said.
"If I helped you, and you helped Terra, that's what really matters. If we help each other, we'll have something to live for."
As I was about to leave, I could see Private Terra lingering behind me.
"Something wrong, Private Terra?" I asked.
"No, it's just... I understand why you did what you did now."
I smiled. "I had to. For both of us. Now come on!"
"Nah, I think I'll just teleport back. That's easier. Enjoy the life you have while you still have it."
And he just teleported without even giving me a chance to say goodbye.
So I drove home thinking about everything that happened today, knowing that it was good.
After I arrived back home, I decided to look at Private Terra's information. I might have needed to know what he does if I wanted to find out anything about him. That could help my job.
But when I looked through his address, I was shocked. Nothing was there.
Could it be that it wasn't his house after all?
But, wait- there was one place that matched his description:
The Land of Departure.
