"I've just never seen an Android exhibit such human emotion" was the sentence that rang throughout my head. I couldn't help but notice his blue eyes glistening from the bar light saying "Brew Crew" as I dozed off into Cyberspace thinking.
"Connor? Connor!" I hear Lieutenant Anderson's voice fade in. "Sorry Lieut- Hank, I've recently been drifting off. I'm running a diagnostic currently" As the search in my software runs I can't help but notice Hank staring into my eyes looking like he's trying to find something.
It only takes me a couple seconds more to complete the diagnostic and ask "Yes Hank?" He looks away "Nothing, Let's go back" He quickly says getting up, trying to hide the small tint of pink on his cheeks and paying for his drink. I see that he added a little tip due to me causing a disturbance. A part off me felt a bit angry how I caused a "disturbance" how in the he- "Wait" I think to myself "I feel...?" I say to myself. "Huh?" Hank asks me wondering if I said something important. "Software Instability" My light flashes a red for a couple of seconds but Nothing out of the usual. "Nothing Lieutendant! I'd prefer if we could go now." I said trying to sound like everything was fine. "Okay okay, Let's go." Lieutendant says.
He walks out of the bar with me trailing behind him. "From the way you acted back at the police station, Hank, do you just not like me or Androids in general?" I ask him genuinely confused. Hank turns around and smiles "I don't like androids but you're fine Connor." He says making me blush a blue color on my cheeks. "T-," I studder taken a back by his kind statement. "Thank you Lieutenant" I say making it clear I was thankful.
"Hank, It's Hank Connor". We continue down the street then take a left leading to his car. I could tell Hank was still pretty drunk which was apparently normal to everyone he knew so it was mandatory that he turn on the auto drive "Hank, use the auto drive function. Your alcohol levels are currently pretty high so I don't want to risk you getting hurt" Saying in a gentle and calm tone. "Im a grown man you cute fuckin' android, you're not my mom, I can do this-" Hank says as he takes out the slide out driving wheel from the console infront of him. He puts it in reverse, almost hitting another car behind us, then in drive, cutting off a person. "Hank, maybe you sh-" He cuts me off by speeding up the car making my head go flying into the head rest. I see a smirk appear acrossed his face, this makes me smile too. I feel joy and adventure which makes me laugh and smile. "Hank, slow down!" I say still having gravity pushing my head down from the speed.
I glance over at the speedometer and it reads 120 also noticing Hank looking over at me smiling. Eventually after a couple of seconds he slows down "Again Connor, you are so human-like. It's amazing-" he says not breaking eye contact from the road but still continues to smile. "Well I was programmed to communicate in a lively manner with humans so it doesn't surprise me." I respond trying to cover up that none of these emotions I've been feeling are built into my software.
"No, that not it, it's you" he says looking over at me mid sentence, giving me a small wink. I once again blush a bright blue. "That just proves my point even more." He says letting out a small laugh.
