I woke up the next morning to my screaming alarm. I quickly jumped up and turned it off. I woke up two hours earlier than I had to just so I could make sure I looked perfect. On top of the fact that I'm going to be the new kid, I was also going into a new school in the middle of the year, I had to make an impression on the first day.

I picked out my outfit, did my hair and started doing my make up. When I was done with everything I had about 10 minuted of down time before I had to leave for school. I stepped in front of the mirror and let out a deep breath.

Are you ready? I said to myself. I looked up and down myself and finally realized, this is it. I got the keys to the car, went down stairs and I was off.

My dad had set the schools address in my GPS so I didn't get lost...that would've been horrible. I pulled into the parking lot, hundreds of kids were out there. Some listening to music, others talking to friends and some just standing there. I found a spot and parked. I sat in the car for a second genuinely scared, when I heard the bell ring, I knew I had to get out.

I opened my door and stepped out. I looked around, no one was staring at me...that was good. I started to make my way up to the building. As I was walking I was looking all around me. I noticed a few stares and glares in my direction, but I hoped that was a good thing.

The second bell rang and everyone went to their classes while I went to the office. It took me a while to find it, but when I finally did I breathed a sigh of relief. I walked in and this lady came up to me.

“Megan right? Megan Murphy?”

I stood there for a second “Oh, um yes.”

She put her hand out to shake mine “Hi, I'm Ms. Wilson and I'll be you guidance counselor for the next four years...I mean if your here that long.”

“Well, like you said, I'm Megan.” I said nervously

She giggled. “Yes, I know.” she handed me a piece of paper. “These are your classes. All the room numbers are right here. All your classes are on the first and second floor. Freshman get the top floor.”

“Um okay.”

“I know, kinda confusing. Your first period is Science. That is just down the hall. Your locker should be on this floor, I think it is just around the corner actually. Would you like me to call a student in here to be with you for the day and show you around”

“No.” I said almost instantly. “I think I can manage.”

“Well, alright. If you change your mind just come back here and I'll find you someone.”

“Okay.”

“Alright, you can go. Here's your pass” she said handing me a small piece of paper. I grabbed it and left quickly. I went down the hall and around the corner when I finally found my locker. I put my stuff in there and made my way to the science room. First period was half over and I really just wanted to skip it...i didn't want to walk in late in front of everyone, but I knew I had to go. I stopped in front of a door.

226, this is it I opened the door slowly. The teacher stopped talking and everyone looked at me.

I swallowed. “Um is this science? Are you Mrs. Charm?”

She smiled. “It is and I am. Are you Megan?”

“In the flesh.”

“Well, your seat is that one, in the back, behind Eric. Eric raise your hand.”

I grinned realizing that the Eric she was talking about was the one I met yesterday. I went in the back and sat down. Mrs. Charm continued talking. Eric turned around.

“Guess I am lucky, huh beautiful?”

“Guess so.” i said back; he smiled and turned back around.

When the bell rang I picked up my stuff and went to my locker. I was getting my book for Algebra when someone leaned back on the locker next to me.

“Fancy seeing you here.”

I looked over and saw Jake standing there grinning. “Oh yeah!” I said smiling back before hugging him. I didn't know if that was a good idea until he hugged me back.

“Jake, already with the new girl?” I looked over and some guy was standing there “Hey I'm Tony.”

“Hi, I'm Megan.”

“Nice to meet you.”

“You too.” I said then he smacked Jake on the arm and left.

I looked at him. “Well I should get to class.” he said.

“Yeah, me too.”

“What class?” he asked

“Um, Algebra with Mr. Davis.”

“That's where I'm going. Come on, I'll take you.”

I smiled. “Okay.”

The rest of the day went by pretty fast. At lunch I sat with Jake and Eric. Danny was there too and there were these too girls Amber and Amanda, they were twins. Jake introduced me to a lot of people and so did Eric. By the end of the day I knew half the school and they knew me. So this was what it was like to be popular, huh?

When I got home, I dropped my bag on the table and went up stairs.

“How was it, honey?” I heard my mom say

“Awesome mom, it was amazing.”

“Good sweetie. Well me, your dad and Brad are going out. Do you wanna come?”

“No, I am actually going to the neighbors.”

“Oh...well okay. See you later.”

“See you later.”

I went in my room and brushed my hair. I touched up my make up and headed down to Jake's.
