Chapter 12

When I showed up to the station there was about 50 people and there and another 30 cops. "Holy shit there's a shit ton of people here" I said to Kasey.

"Milly said all those cops are off duty and are doing his out of their own time because they wanna find Paisley"

"That's crazy"

"Okay everyone thank you all for showing up and helping us look for this little girl. Her name is Paisley Johnson and she was wearing Minnie Mouse pajamas that were purple and white last seen. She has blonde curly hair and is about 3'8. Grab a flashlight and let's get looking" Milly said into an a speaker and we split into groups at the forest. 

I was walking with Milly, three other cops and Mason. After two hours of yelling Paisleys name and walking through trees and bushes we decided to wrap it up and head home. As we were walking back one of the dogs Milly was walking started to bark. He took us to an opening and Mason and I ran inside ahead of the officers. We twisted and turned and it just kept getting deeper.

"I want my mommy"

"Paisley" I yelled hearing her voice for the first time in weeks. In return I heard a hushed scream like something was covering her mouth. I started running faster before I saw light. I slowed and that's when I heard her crying. She was alive.

Mason and I walked down the cave farther and we saw her. I ran up to her while she was laying on the bed.

"Tay tay" she said gripping around my body. She was crying and I could tell she was sick. There was a man hiding before Mason saw him and he started running. Mason ran after him and 5 seconds later the officers caught up with us and started running after him too. Milly stayed with me as she called an ambulance. We ran to the edge of the woods as the ambulance pulled up. We hopped in and they took over taking care of Paisley but I didn't let go of her hand.

"Hailey?" I said into the phone while we were on our way to the hospital.

"What?" She asked worried.

"I found her. She's alive. She's alive Hailey" I said crying into the phone. She started crying and I heard tell Jessie. "Where are you?"

"We're on the way to the hospital, prepare yourself" I said to her and hung up.

As we got to the hospital the ER nurses rushed outside and took her stretcher past us. We were instructed to wait in the lobby. Hailey came running in less than a minute later.

"Where is she" she said running up to me.

"They took her back to check her out. But she's alive, she's alive Hailey" she fell into my arms and started crying again. Jake ran in and Hailey went up to him. They talked for a few minutes before they hugged and both started crying. Hailey kept trying to go back but the doctors said that she couldn't until she came out of the X-ray room.

After three hours we all were able to see Paisley besides just Hailey and Jake and when I walked in Hailey was cuddling Paisley in her bed. Her leg was broken and she was hooked up to a machine.

Paisley said her leg started to hurt when she was going into the cave with the man. So they think ya been broken for the whole month she's been gone. She is extremely dehydrated and malnourished so she's hooked to the machine to help that get better.

The police arrested the man that kidnapped her and he starts his trial in a few weeks. The guy confessed to kidnapping her but he didn't touch her inappropriately which was also supported by the nurses who examined her. He said that he was paid by one of those human traffickers to transport her and the thought that he was gonna actually sell her is terrifying to me. But the fact that he had her for a whole month is a little suspicious to not only me but the police also.

Bringing Paisley to Jessie's was the most heartwarming and beautiful thing. When Drew saw her he started crying and ran to her and hugged her. She hugged him too and then he ran to me. "Momma shes back" he said pointing to her.

"I know baby" I smiled and kissed his forehead. Everyone was hugging her and kissing her and crying out of joy and she was just sitting on the couch taking it all in.

Eventually Hailey and Jake took her home and spent some quality time with her. I took Drew home and Nick came home soon after.

"So she's home, everyone's happy" Nick smiled laying down in bed next to me.

"Yes and yes" I said cuddling up next to him.

"Ya know Taylor I wanna be here for you forever. And I wanna make sure Paisley and Drew stay in my life forever and not just as my best friends kids"

"You are in Drews life and you are in Paisleys" 

"Am I in yours?"

"Yes"

"How so?"

"You stay here every night, you help me raise my son, you sleep next to me Nick"

"I love you Taylor"

"I love you too Nick" he grabbed my face and kissed me. We started kissing before I rolled on top of him and straddled him. He started massaging my back and butt before I took off his shirt and he took off mine. Before I knew it he slide himself into me and we were still kissing. I smiled at him and he whispered he loved me.
